new pressing plant in Detriot
well said, with that sentiment, spot on
-
new pressing plant in Detriot
provenance comes with owning a one off acetate, of an unreleased tune, making a copy, another acetate, allows a dj to play the record out to the public, without damaging the only existing original recording. imho this is perfectly legitimate and totally practical, whilst still maintaining our mythical, underground credibility ethic. - so there! LOL.

thought this might be of interest, Jack white has done more for the music industry than a host of wannabe Ganstas

Northern soul collecting!! Is it a con?
personally I can see why certain boots would be collectable, they show the culture of the scene, albeit a perhaps negative aspect. and have their own intrintic value as artefacts. I have Zepplin 1 on a Usssr issue in a cheaply made printed paper sleeve, illegal at the time and not official, but to me infinitely more desirable than a standard UK issue, even with the 'blue atlantic badge'. worth less monetarily but in terms of relevance more important imho. However its also an intrinsic part of NS culture that you ALWAYS play OVO, and that as always should stand, regardless of the cultural credibility of bootlegs.

Soul Banjo shock
yeah know what you mean about the banjo, but could be just a guitar with a weird open tuning or a didldy bo. love xylophones too, one of the distinctive things I remember about hearing my first northern sounds after been raised on a diet of rock guitar as a kid I thought that sounds really weird, think it was 'what' the xylophones really got me hooked.
