A brief intro...
Stoke girl now living Newcastle upon Tyne. Stopped going regularly to nighters in 1977 when scene became too commercialised and a lot of my friends from Stoke were overdosing and it wasn't fun anymore. Have some brilliant memories from the Torch, Top Rank Stoke, Blackpool Mecca, Cats, Va Va's, Cleethorpes, Leeds Central and the first 3 years of Wigan. Still love the music and fond memories of the people I met along the way. Favourite sounds You Hit Me Right Where It Hurts Me, Darkest Days, World Without Sunshine, Catch Me I'm Falling, Cracking Up Over You, I'm Gonna Find Me Somebody, Picture Me Gone, Chains of Love, Take Me For A Little While, Please Let Me In, Determination, I'll Never Forget You Girl, Hit and Run and Times A Wastin to name but a few. Best times - Al Green at Torch, Junior Walker at Mecca, Charlie and Inez Foxx at Torch and obviously Major Lance. Good shopping- Oasis Market Manchester on a Saturday afternoon! Scariest moment, cloakroom in Wigan with some crazed guy waving a knife around!!! Oddest moment - walking out of Wigan to see Tuinal scattered all over the streets! Best cup of tea - Tunstall square Cafe on a Sunday morning.
