Why Don't You Go To All Nighters?
I understand that in the current climate total costs for a night out inc admission/fuel/beer etc makes some folks reconsider their plans, but the majority of attendees on the soul scene has, for a long time now, taken issue with paying more than £4/£5 for a soul night or £10 for a nighter. £10 for 5 hours, let alone 10 hours+ isn't really over the top imo, you'd pay more to watch 2 movies at the cinema, or to play 5 hours worth of bowling, or to go swimming for a similar length of time etc etc etc You'd probably pay as much to park your motor in a city centre car park and listen to your radio for 5 hours As I say, this issue is more apparent in recent times, but has been there for a good many years. I remember upping admission price at a soul night I used to promote a few years ago from £3.50 to £4...the general response from a high percentage of the regulars was somewhat unbelievable...over a mere 50p

That passes as a marriage proposal in the Potteries mate. Foreplay round here usually involves buying her half a pint of fizzy lager and asking if she swallows

Why Don't You Go To All Nighters?
Kinnel, that's it then.....the nighter scene must be f**ked Just a few points mind....... 1. You don't have to stay to the very end to enjoy a nighter....you can go home whenever you want, so the feeling shite and knackered for 3 days afterwards doesn't have to be the case. 2. On the same note, you don't have to get shitfaced on gear to enjoy nighters. 3. The music policy on most nighters will usually be predictable by the DJ line-up, the advertising, plus past events/word of mouth etc, so if you end up hearing the same old same old all night then you need to be a bit more selective on where you go. 4. Late bars don't result in numpties attending imo. Lack of suitably trained doorstaff (if any at all!) and advertising extensively via local media attracts them....personally think you get more numpties at soul nights on the whole cus they don't want to pay £10+ admission. 5. Be honest now folks, how many of those who have posted negative comments on this thread who also DJ, would attend a nighter if asked to do a set at 5 a.m. (quite a few I bet )
