    So sorry to hear the passing of Clive , I was one of them to be lucky to have known him. One of the nicest guys to have graced the Northern scene. He will be truly missed by all. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. R.I.P . Dave B

  5. Now with Richard Searling on Radio Sheffield Wednesday night soul show, asking about stories from where you got your first Northern Soul Record. Like I said before I used to go to her shop in the 70s and she seemed to have eyes in the back of her head. We couldn`t get away with anything.

  9. I used to get my Dealer Boots and Dr Martins from Timpsons on the corner across from the Castle Market. There was also Ribena Shoes just off High street where we got Jam shoes from.

  13. The watches was inter woven into the strap. Kids would buy ought lol.

  15. I remember the wrist bands with buckles on them, they then started coming with watches fitted to them.
  16. Does anybody remember going on a friday in the early hours to the open air market,which was at the bottom of the Sheaf market to get shoes? There were about 3 or 4 stalls filled with shoes most of the time mixed up and so we had to go searching to get a pair that matched.
  17. Harringtons was in castle market and Sexy Rexy was on the corner of pinstone street. Harringtons for me as teen in the 70s was were I got kitted out. This were I got my first Harrington jacket, sta-prest trousers,Y cardigans ,crombies,two-toned suits, polo shirts and levis jeans. The sales men were pushy and the changing rooms was up some wooden steps which lead above the shop which you shared with other customers.

  21. Like me I had little knowledge of record lables , I saw a record I wanted and bought it.
