Signing off April with a πŸ’₯ another cracking night promised at THE CHURCH, CREWE ST, SHREWSBURY...right in the heart of Shropshire, another classical across the board musical sermon from hosts, RUSS REEVES & MARK DOWNING plus!, back in the saddle for me as this month's guest dj! A Fiver gets you in, spacious free parking, competitive bar prices ( last orders: Midnight) fabulous dance floor...the proviso being: get here early doors to grab the seating and your favorite spot to bust some moves, as its ALWAYS very busy. Crewe St, is just off Ellesmere Road, 5 mins from the town centre Bus & Railway stations. Via the road networks its easily reachable from the A5/M54/A49/A53 & M6. There are a number of recommended hotels if youre looking to stop over including: TRAVELODGE BAYSTON HILL / BATTLEFIELD PREMIER INN, SEVERNSIDE & HOLIDAY INN @ SHREWSBURY BUSINESS PARK. check their websites for details. Always plenty of first timers and travellers alongside the regulars, so, if youre still suffering from the after effects of Easter eggs and hotcross buns, this is the perfect workout...Its Shropshire's hidden gem of a venue, no mystery about the music though...100% right up your street!!.πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸŽ΅πŸ’ƒπŸ•ΊπŸŽΆβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

AS Bobby Patterson sang.." What A Wonderful Night " ( and indeed even that got a spin out ) the place was rocking!!, have to say: these bar ladies do an astonishingly good job, with ever present smiles and graciousness...and i think they genuinely enjoy the music and the chat as well...and all completely free service, though its awfully fitting that they should have a lovely gesture made to them in the form of a collection. I know Dave & Wendy were in the building but i couldve sworn someone was playing a tribute to him as a good many of one particular set, are in Dave's playbox!!🀣🀣 and wouldve certainly been aired at " The Manor " WELL DONE, THAT MAN!πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Awesome sets from all concerned including our Radiator table resident, Mick Howard.....Paul " Chopper " Harris as well....dear dear!!, ill bet theres a few wooden legs this fine sunny Mother's Day. The star rating goes without saying, recover your breath and energy and get ready to go-go again on April 15th.....2000+ ss views cant be wrong!πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸŽ΅πŸ’ƒπŸ•ΊπŸŽΆ WELL DONE, TEAM!πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

JUST a message regards parking, for those intending to come to this function. Parking is pretty much at a premium in TOD town centre. Immediately in front of the pub are a few spaces. There is a parking bay in front of VEDAS, but generally people using the restaurant are already taking this space. Across the canal bridge on Rochdale Road there is limited parking in HALL STREET. IN the other direction it may be possible to park in SALFORD WAY industrial estate, alternatively, there is a MORRISONS across the road, where their car park isnt enclosed ( store shuts at 10pm ) its no more than 2 minutes walk to the GOLDEN LION from there. There is also parking in the Market area, BRAMSCHE SQUARE & SCHOOL LANE....these are metered until 6pm so no worries after that time...again no more than 5 mins walk to venue. PLEASE BE EARLY, as this will quite easily be packed out in a short space of time, making almost certainly, for a cracking atmosphere and the chance to hear a good many tunes out, that you normally wouldnt....its not specifically going to be a bog standard oldies session but,a good mix of everything AND.....ITS COMPLETLY FREE....πŸ˜‰πŸ‘βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ

  17. Looking forward to another visit to this venue, very busy last month and the word is spreading and the reputation is growing quickly, great ambience, lots of friendly, smiley faces, great dancefloor ( absolutely no need for talc ) and the music gets people up, all you can hope for really...plus the evenings whole door takings go to charity! Even better for us personally is, its 10 minutes from home, and its not a late finish, which these days is a preference fir more folk, hence a large proportion staying til the end. Look forward to spinning a few discs here, hopefully in MayπŸ˜‰πŸ‘
  18. Just recently auctioned, by Anglo AmericanπŸ‘
  19. Looking very much like another packer, Mick....we'll try not to be " Late " next time...( 6:45pm ) 🀣🀣, spread the gospel and the loveπŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸŽ΅πŸ’ƒπŸ•ΊπŸŽΆ
  20. Wooden legs after the last one, the amphetamines ( Moretti πŸ˜‰πŸ€£πŸ€£ ) wore off to soon, even christened me new t shirt with ghe stuff...but, what a great night, so...its back for more..er....kerp our seat Mick, theres a good chap!πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ‘
  21. Absolutely my thoughts and, having concurred earlier today, this stolen hoard will be so hot, these imbeciles might find theirselves being pursued not just by the likes of us, but by real villains, which will be extremely nasty for them, a reward may well be an even bigger inducement...their lives wont be worth living anyway if they attempt to fence them....now the media has got the story, theres nowhere for them to run.
  22. It also transpires that several other parties were interested in booking this venue for Northern Soul events, needless to say that hasnt happened!. Not long to go to this, basically 5 weeks, the response to the avdertising and subsequent sales and purchasing of tickets, has frankly been amazing, am sure the promoters and djs alike would say thankyou to everyone for endorsing this venture...not that it hasnt been done here before, just that it different people having a go at doing it their way. Looking forward to seeing old friends, and new, there!πŸ˜‰πŸ‘
  23. I was told that was what happened and always believed, i think its more the fact it could be suggested how the story was told to you and by who and...importantly, that they were someone who actually witnessed it...and you did!, thats all the proof thats needed....thats why its a bit of a legend. It ended up in Max's Wednesfield shop for sure, as to how long it remained there, and we're talking in terms of years, i dont honestly know...or when it was removed, or what subsequently happened to it..Eddie Shwarz ( Swoz ) probably couldve answered that but sadly he's no longer with us....and Max left us a good 10 years ago now i think ( someone will surely correct me on the exact date )
