  1. It does have a great booklet but the music is mainly fake and mainly awful. Don't matter if it was made in detroit, most of the music was created in the UK and I am 99% certain that the gladys knight instrumental was actually made by me and circulated on a cd which found its way onto this cd. And it was also the subject of much investigation by Motown in the UK
  2. If you get desperate you know where I live...
  3. Of all the ones I could have chosen, I randomly picked this, and it turns out it's been released!!!
  4. Thats a very dodgy bootleg, most of which are versions recorded on a pc using a karaoke program. These are the true backing tracks issued by Motown. Bit of a difference!
  5. I like Space Oddity more than Rosemary..
  6. Last one for a bit. This is the spine-tingling acapella version of Ask The Lonely by the Four Tops featuring of course Levi Stubbs. It'll leave you shaken! Four_Tops___Ask_The_Lonely_acapella_.mp3
  7. There's three - possibly 4 versions - the best by far is the one that was booted as the Detroit Prophets. I think subsequent cd issues have used different takes. OH and of course the instrumnetal version turned up as well.
  8. Instrumental version of 25 Miles Edwin_Starr__Twenty_Five_Miles_instrumental_.mp3
  9. On it's original single format this must be one of the most difficult songs ever to try to transcribe the lyrics from...I had absolutely no idea what he was singing at times. Have a listen to the acapella and it all becomes clear! Stevie_Wonder___Uptight__Everything_s_Alright__acapella_.mp3
  10. Basically, a few years ago, Motown in the States released a series of karaoke CD's featuring over a hundred of their best known and best loved tracks. These used the original backing tracks, not some awful session remakes. The original discs were available via outlets such as Walmart but were soon withdrawn and deleted. They were then reissued as a 6 disc, 48 track set which is available via Amazon. The rest of the tracks remain unavailable. You can of course PM me for more details.
  11. I'll put a couple more up in a bit Dave
  12. ...in your opinion maybe
  13. This is beautiful (and it's not my spelling by the way) Marvin_Gaye_and_Tammy_Terrell___Ain_t_No_Mountain_High_Enough_acapella_.mp3
  14. Martha_and_the_Vandellas___Nowhere_to_Run_instrumental_.mp3
  15. Because it's a classic
  16. The labels on the original have a more matt finish and there's a stamp which isn't on the pressing, unfortunately I haven't got one at the moment did have about 3 months ago and remember comparing it then
  17. I got a George Carrow off ebay last week for about £25 - it'll go on the list at £50 to start with. It is a real shame that prices can't be discussed, the worst case was the chap last week selling common pressings for £20 upwards, as a way of a comment the next day I put out a list of many of the same things but with everything at a fiver each. But you know what, I bet he sold more. Why for goodness sake??
  18. Yeah it collapsed under the weight of vinyl I blame those pesky modern 12"'s on another thread
  19. coming soon when the clip facility returns
  20. Pete S replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
This isn't correct. Not all originals have the LW and/or BF stamps
  21. 1500 lillie bryant 1250 tomangoes 850 bill bush (not illustrated) IF ONLY THEY WERE MINE! Did get nice comission though
  22. Typical, the one (or two) days the sites down and I get two of the best records ever made for sale...
  23. Nothing wrong with playing a few I suppose, but it's not to my personal taste and I would avoid places that played across the board - thats all...
  24. Me too, tears rolling here, weird how that can happen, it was 26 years ago! It's just when that clapping speeds up at the climax of the last chorus and then there's a tiny puase before the last thundering clap comes in just before he sings the words I'm On My Way
  25. and here's the last ever play of Dean Parrish - I'm On My Way
