  1. Yes but was Italy really centre of a big soul movement? Britain was...
  2. I'm on a mac too, using chrome, they won't play for me
  3. OLD (M) PRESSIONS - LET ME KNOW / RIGHT ON - BROOKS BROTHERS RECORDS. SOLD Anyone who wanted this off me last month and I'd sold it, I've got another, sold in auction for over £250, only one on Discogs and that's £213, from me £75 first come first served, cheers pete
  4. If anyone's interested, just put a couple of hundred 70's Northern pressings, boots, 2nd issues and so on onto Discogs, I have another 300 or so of these to put on so please keep checking back, cheers https://www.discogs.com/seller/pete.smith/profile
  5. In 1975 I did a seven mornings and seven nights paper round for £3 a week
  6. Is that the guy with the glasses Jordi? He's the only one I don't know in that pic. Left to right the late Martin Randle (dancing), Barbara Thomas, Steve Smith, Shaun, John Jones, Andy Wall Not my photo, I'd have been tucked up in bed having stopped going way before then. Interesting though that the 'uniform' isn't as people seem to think it was.
  7. Wigan Casino Annual "Spot The Clown Trousers" competition, no one won that year
  8. That link just goes to my ebay for some reason...someone else try it?
  9. Must be incredibly rare - not a promo though
  10. No what I was saying was, they added the stickers in 1975 (well they aren't stickers, it's actually printed onto the cardboard but looks like a sticker)
  11. True - but only managed the one single in the UK I think?
  12. But why release it in Italy - an unknown soul group?
  13. Seriously? I'd have thought only American on original. And they were manufacturing those in 1975 because some of them adapted the sleeve to include a sticker saying "Includes the hit I'm Your Pimp" despite it not being issued as a 45. Those were being sold up to as late as 1978 for around £5.
  14. Was the "The Wheel" documentary released on DVD anyone know? It came out in 2012 I think. I"ve not seen it for sale. IF anyone can point me in the direction of a copy I'd be grateful.
  15. I think that lookalike at the top was done by Joe Boy Records so it's totally legit as they had the rights at the time. p.s. I've got a destiny demo and issue and can't hear any problems
  16. Pete S replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
What? That's not even a real record!

  18. BACK WHERE THEY BELONG A couple of weeks ago, I bought an old mate’s record collection and while going through the reissues section I saw stacks of things that I used to love, and have on vinyl, and it got me thinking that I ought to actually keep a few of these for myself. So please find here for your listening pleasure, my ‘lost’ records come home again, and wow do they make for a fantastic set, if you’re not into Wigan oldies I wouldn’t even bother listening because only about 5 are post-Wigan but for those who do remember those times, these were some of the best records ever played at any venue, let alone the Casino. 19. Exactly the reason that other people said they wouldn't post their opinions as they would meet with a hostile reception. I still want to know why the records were pitched up so much.
  20. One just now said that it was too depressing, that people went to venues to enjoy themselves but nobody at the all nighters were doing so. Girls fashions were wrong. Stuff like that. Chap I spoke to yesterday said he thought Soulboy was better.
  21. I've spoken to a few people last few days who absolutely hated it but won't come on and say so in case they get some stick. Which is a shame. Not that they hated it, but that they won't come on. I liked it.
  22. How much should I ask for a Blue Rock copy of Big Frank & The Essences - I Won't Let Her See Me Cry. Visually VG+, some marks and scuffs, plays with one or two background pops but nothing serious. Bit of ring wear to raised part of label. Also have Eugene Smiley & The Essence Of Love - Yes It's You on K-City demo VG++ little crackle on the intro otherwise EX. Definitely not my cup of tea this record but interested to know what to ask for it. cheers.
  23. I got a copy of this yesterday but haven't had chance to price it up yet along with the rest of them, I"ll try and have a proper look later if you still need the record
