  1. Thank you, I'll announce it on here...
  2. It is, there's no way this came out in 1964, whoever says so
  3. Steve, the Marching record is the backing track to a Val Simpson track though, background vocals and all. You can hear her voice 'leaking' into the instrumental
  4. I have used it mate. I'm just not a big ebay user anymore
  5. As if by magic, someone emailed me about 11.30 and I now have 200 originals to sell next week...
  6. The Kung Fu thing comes from Keb
  7. Don't think that cane be true mate, this is definitely 66, they wouldn't have known to nick that Satisfaction riff in 64
  8. Yeah it is so boring. Take photos, edit photos, upload photos, yawn....
  9. Am just uploading these onto Discogs, I have about 350 to do altogether, please check back as I will be uploading all day today - biggest collection of 'original' 70's pressings etc I've seen in years...some of these are scarcer than the originals nowadays! https://www.discogs.com/seller/pete.smith/profile?genre=Funk+%2F+Soul I forgot to mention that I have a full list of all of the USA (and UK) reissues on an Excel spreadsheet if anyone wants it. UK has lots of Grapevine's etc. Drop me a line if you want it pete.smith@freeuk.com
  10. Audio Lathe was a home studio run by a guy in the States, I used to get stacks of things cut by him, still have some Audio Lathe labels he sent me...last ordered around 2003.
  11. Big topic about it here. Appears on white garage compilations nowadays.
  12. My new website should be opening this weekend and I'll be inviting people to sell their records on there, they can give me the records, they will stay on there until sold (or requested back), will cost them nothing to list and I'll take the usual commission but everything is set up so people don't have to do any work at all. Have a look at this, it's nearly ready, most of the drop down menus are working etc https://www.rare-soul.com/wordpress/
  13. There's reasons why people don't want to do it themselves though Dave, mainly because of the pitfalls caused by certain customers, ebay etc. Can you imagine how long and how much effort it would take someone to sell 500 records by themselves when they have no experience of it? If you give me a record to sell, it goes on my list, gets seen by 1000 people, then it goes on soul source, seen by another 1000, then it goes on facebook, seen by several thousand, then it goes on Discogs, seen by how many? All takes time, and lots of people just don't have that time. But of course you are right about one thing, if you sell yourself you're 20% better off, but that 20% does include a fair bit of work.

I don't think I know Aaron but I always read his comments on auctions etc and he knows what he's talking about.
  15. Confused here, are you talking about the official A side to Marching Steve? Because Marching is obviously on that 45 as a filler which they got from elsewhere just to put a record out as it's an Ashford/Simpson/Armstead session.
  16. You sold stuff to me though!
  17. I live just south of Wolverhampton where South Staffs, Worcestershire and Shropshire all meet.
  18. I sold an issue about 8 years ago, on here I think....very very rare. I like it, the vocal appeared on Kent eventually but I think I prefer the instrumental.
  19. he should have been offered at least double that
  20. STUDIO ONE MIXED UP MASH UP Okay I'm not quite sure how to describe this, it's multiple mashups and remixes of classic Studio One rhythms, mixed in with a bit of hip hop and some rare Rocksteady original 45's...it's actually quite a good mix, though fans of the originals may take a while to get used to the new versions - not that recycling old classic Reggae backing tracks hasn't been around since the dawn of time...the thing is, I think all of the more recent stuff really shows it's roots so it's not that much different to one of my usual 60's mixes really...(track listing may differ very slightly as I edited it and forgot to change the list I'd already typed up) KEN BOOTHE — WHEN I FALL IN LOVE MS DYNAMITE — FALL IN LOVE AGAIN LADY LEX & THE SUPERSONICS — AT LAST THE RIGHTEOUS FLAMES — YOU DON’T KNOW KARDINAL OFFISHALL — NINA THE SILVERTONES — SMILE BARRINGTON SPENCE — CONTEMPLATING MIND RONALD MERRIS — DANGER IN YOUR EYES SKARRA MUCCI & KEN BOOTHE — DUPPY ALICIA KEYS — YOU DON’T KNOW MY NAME JAY Z & LITTLE WAYNE — BROOKLYN SLOW MOTION JSTAR — NO DIGGITY NORMA FRASER — RESPECT JENNIFER LARA — CONSIDER ME JSTAR — STILL PASSIN’ ME BY DEVON & THE SOUL VENDORS — GET READY PETE YOUNG — IF YOU GOT SOUL KEITH & TEX — STOP THE TRAIN (SOULFORCE DUKKU DUKKU REMIX) COURTNEY JOHN — LOVE IS BIG BOI — ROYAL FLUSH THE PARAGONS — TIDE IS HIGH (HOODED HORSEMEN BOOTLEG) LEE PERRY — ME SIR MARLEY & THE SKATALITES — ONE LOVE VERSION DONNA V & SOUND DIMENSION — PULL OVER VERSION LADY LEX — BAD BOYS SUGAR MINOTT — I NEED A ROOF ROY RICHARDS — SUMMERTIME THE OCTAVES — THE BATTLE THE SHARKS — HOW COULD I LIVE BARRY BROWN — GIVE LOVE FRANKIE WILMOTH — STAY WITH ME LLOYD CHALMERS — THINGS GOING WRONG ROLANDO & SOUND DIMENSION — FEELING GOOD CHRIS MACRO FEAT. 21. You sure it was popcorn?
  22. I have a friend in Paris who, when I made a comment about the French postal service being terrible, he told me it was definitely not down to the postal service, which is actually very good, it's because so many people over there are rip off merchants and they give the good buyers and sellers a very bad name.
  23. People sell them to me or give them to me to sell for them. I never go looking for any. I've never flown so America has always been out of the question, plus I'd never be able to get enough money together to warrant a trip. Bought 500 singles last week, cost £6500 am hoping to make £2000 on top of that, have already got the £6500 back by selling all the originals to one person so I have 350 reissues to make a profit on!
  24. He was probably getting a cut!
  25. First time I ever went to Wigan was a real eye opener, on Jethro's coach from Wolverhampton, aged 16, had no idea about drugs and couln't believe it when an almost hostess trolley service was going up and down the coach selling pills, which I politely refused..
