  1. Well I was serious but now that's 3 people saying they'd like them so now I don't know what to do
  2. Someone's asked for them Tom so they won't be thrown away - yet.... records shop people are lazy bastards, if I rang thrm up and said there's 100's of records here and you can have them for nothing, they wouldn't come out, I've done it before
  3. Pete S replied to paultp's topic in Record Sales
It was pressed by Sony to promote the CD Soul Time Vol.1...they actually only sent out about 50 of these, I asked if they'd got any left and they sent me a box of 100!! I used to be quite lucky back then.
  4. No mate, just haven't got time, I'm getting too many records and I need to get shut of them, actually you ought to venture up north cos I've got about 2000 50's and early 60's records sitting in the garage that you could have!
  5. I make overseas buyers pay insurance if the sale is over £25, if it's under then I'm prepared to stand the cost if they go missing, because 99% of people are honest. I lost about £300 to two wankers saying they hadn't received the items, both French, so I said never again! I have also sent people in the UK invoices for records over £100 and they have not chosen the recorded delivery option, which immediately makes me suspicious, so I pay that myself.
  6. I bought a job lot of "r & b" records off ebay, there were 800 of them, anyway they are practically all 70's and early 80's, mostly mainstream, I don't know if there's anything of use or not but I am only keeping about 40 so if anyone wants 760 70's singles FREE OF CHARGE, you are quite welcome to them. You'll have to come and fetch them though. I'll leave this up for 24 hours then I'll chuck them down the tip. F*cking job lots, why do I bother...
  7. I bid the equivalent of 125 quid...
  8. Can't believe this price...what the hell is going on? https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=280036206362
  9. £75 tops...
  10. I would point out the last one when it was discussed but only Rachel seems to know how to find lost topics!
  11. Malc, it's discussed every time it's shown - which is a lot, last time around 6 weeks ago - and I've been circulating it on video and dvd's for over a decade. I prefer my copy to the one shown at the moment though as it's still got the original adverts in including one for the KFC Barbecur fillet which was only on sale for a konth but was the best thing they ever did.
  12. Showin' Out by Mel & Kim
  13. OK well surely this evening will be better, the itinary is: have a bath with the baby, that's always fun, and we have a new clockwork swimming hippo toy to try; cook the tea, delicious looking cheese and potato pie made by myself; watch x factor, both episodes back to back; watch MOTD while consuming several bottle of Bud; watch that new documentary about the twin towers falling down. Great. I am so old.
  14. No, worse I'm afraid. Did the shopping and the top of the disinfectant bottle we put in the trolley came open and soaked the entire trolley full of food
  15. Not bad at all
  16. cheers, that actually made me cheer up!
  17. Dave, I am having a worse morning. Got up at 8, walked into the kitchen, found a huge pile of dog sh*t, went to get something to clear it up and literally skidded on a second pile. Cleaned it up. At 9 am a bloke came to buy 4000 pop singles. Loaded them into his car, he paid me cash, as he drove off I realised I'd charged him 250 quid instead of the 350 quid we'd agreed. Took Sammy to playschool to escape the wrath of Davina.
  18. Pete S replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
We used to think he was pretty funny to be honest, never seemed to get it quite right and looked ungainly...always wore that same t shirt
  19. She was on Charlotte Church's show last night and she could barely stand up...a disaster area, God knows what she'd been drinking
  20. First time for everything
  21. That is my old copy which I sold to (I think) Ian levine, I remember playing this when I did These Old Shoes, that must have been 98, so it's no newie. I know it's mine because I did that bit of label damage top right myself trying to get a bit of mould off the label. I thought this was about £300 now.
  22. Well that's bizarre, 2 out of 3 people who replied have got that version and I've had like 5,000 UK records through my hands in the last decade and only ever seen that one copy! p.s. I'm trying to think back to 75-76...from what I remember, DJM released it really really late after it had been played and pressed, I thought around 1977, still can't remember this label though
  23. Anyone seen this before? I'm not trying to say it's rare or anything but I honestly can't remember seeing one with this old style design, and the catalogue number is 2 digits short of the one listed in JM's UK price guide. Enclosed is a copy of Jimmy Radcliffe on DJM, this is what the Don Thomas labels normally look like, and then the Don Thomas scan.
