Chapter Five New Release
I reckon £150 I'll buy it for double that

Marv Johnson
Send me your address and I'll send you a copy for nothing if you want it. The first 15 seconds is noisy, apart from that it's fine. When I complained about this to the seller he told me "what do you expect from a 40 year old record".

Hi Diddly Dee Dum Dum
Minor hit by Jimmy James - didn't know there was another version

Don't Think I'd Risk Incurring His Wrath
I had exactly the same problem with this joker, except I reported him to ebay for being a tw*t and sending unsolicited offers, never heard from him again.

Chapter Five New Release
You can't mean it - best British recorded northern soul record ever made...and a thousand times better than probably 20% of the American records played on the scene.

What Do You Think Of This?
It's on a cd I did called Cream Of The Crop volume 14 which must have been 1999 so that was a while back!
-
Don't Think I'd Risk Incurring His Wrath
No I'm usually ok on Ebay!

What Do You Think Of This?
Well it's certainly not the Castle Brothers seeing as I made that name up, where did Soundcrafts come from though?

What Do You Think Of This?
In that case I've got a treat for you, I've got some stuff here which I'm positive 99% of the people won't have heard, like another version of Love Love Love, a stomper version of Bob Dylans It's All Over Now Baby Blue etc etc...I'll do some 30 second clips later on. Got to go to hospital with missus now for final baby scan

Yeah this is yellow as well. Wonder why they released it so many times, it was bad enought the first time
-
What Do You Think Of This?
No, don't like cover ups much. I got this from Frank Driscoll in Australia about 6 years ago, so credit where it's due, the artist is unknown and I don't think it was ever released.

Absolutely. Reverse psychology I think they call it!
-
What Do You Think Of This?
Not what I expected Andy, thought I'd get "crap pop stomper". Pleasant surprise.

Christian I think I may change tack here - I always try and price the records I sell reasonably, no mental prices, but I hardly sell anything - for instance, there's a record by Jeannie Screen on Josie, I have it on ebay as buy it now for £10, yet 3 people are bidding over $30 on an auction copy! I've had some bloody good records lately and I have to reduce about 50% of them eventually. Yet these are things which go for double or triple on Manship auctions. Maybe if I charge double, then reduce them 25% next week, people will think they got a bargain and I'll make 25% more than I would have done It's a funny old world.

PETE SMITH 28 JENKS ROAD WOMBOURNE WOLVERHAMPTON WV5 0BL 01902 893569 Pete.smith@freeuk.com New arrivals today LASAWN COLLINS - WHAT YOU GONNA DO NOW - SINCERE VG 175 Right well what's this worth, anything from 300-600, this one doesn't look like it's ever been in a sleeve so it's got loads of surface marks and little scratches, playwise it's pretty good, plays nice and loud, the second half of the record plays particularly well, you can hear pops and crackles but I've heard a lot worse (my ska collection for instanceJ So until an original comes around, this should suffice KENNY SMITH - LORD WHAT'S HAPPENED - GOLDSPOT EX 175 Very rare opportunity to get your hands on this, don't know if it's the original version of the GAR release but the arrangement is definitely different with a church organ intro for a start - absolutely brilliant and super rare. Only priced so low because the B side label is shagged. JERRY FISCHER - I'VE GOT TO FIND SOMEONE TO LOVE - MUSICOR DEMO EX 50 Two good dancers here CHUCK JACKSON - I'VE GOT TO BE STRONG - WAND DEMO EX 25 What a great oldie - needs playing! BOBBY BELL - DON'T COME BACK TO ME - RCA DEMO M- 25 Another good lesser played dancer JACKIE FOLLETT - THERE'S A MOMENT - VERVE M 20 Wigan oldie BERT KEYES - DO-DO DO BAH-AH - CLOCK EX 25 This is a great instrumental, sounds like the backing track to "The 81" METHODS OF PAYMENT: ALL CREDIT CARDS / PAYPAL / CHEQUE / POSTAL ORDER / CASH POSTAGE: £1.00 standard £1.50 recorded SPECIAL DELIVERY: £5.00 OVERSEAS POSTAGE: EUROPE £1.50 ELSEWHERE £2.25 REGISTERED £5.50

Collecting
We tend to share stuff on here...the funniest thing is when I made all those alternative versions of northern tracks using the pitch changer and posted them up and I remember saying, you watch in 6 months time someone will be playing these, lo and behold out comes a cd featuring half of them, claiming to be different takes of well known tunes.

Revised This Weeks List
Don't ask me, I'm at the bottom of the chain, I just sell records. I'm informed though, that the USA rights were obtained and if you have any further questions to redirect them to the person I asked our mutual friend to ask them to. No offence but I don't make the records!

Paul Thompson & Rare Ska Beat
No mate but I used to so that means I've got it on mp3 if thats any good...it's a white Island from 63

Chapter Five New Release
I heard it down the phone about a year ago, Gary White had recordings of it as he knows one or two of the band members, can't remember what it was like to be honest!

Paul Thompson & Rare Ska Beat
Ady did you play the other side of Bugaloo, it's credited to the Soul Bros but is actually The Moonlighters & Soulettes, called I'll Be Coming Back. It's like a doo-wop ska record and is absolutely brilliant. I reluctantly sold my first one for I think it was £80, missed it so I bought another, only went for maybe £35 so the market is very up and down at the moment. The Soul Bros side is actually Jackie Mittoo I think. Up at £83 now! On your photos, you need to have a look in the instructions and see how to turn the macro setting on, this'll enable you to get a close up thats perfectly in focus...took me weeks to work it out!
