I've got over 100 British on Ebay at the moment including some rare pieces like an unplayed Lou Johnson Unsatisfied, they are barely doing anything more than a fiver each. Still, a hundred times five, better than a poke in the eye...

You just don't read other people's posts do you, I have explained that I was able to get loads of footage from a source at the BBC in the 80's, much of it unbroadcast, even down to things like "The Young Ones", I had over an hours worth of them rehearsing shows from the second series, you've never ehard of that have you? I have a BBC Nationwide special on David Bowie's Aladdin Sane tour, never rebroadcast in full though the odd clip has been shown. I've got tons of stuff like this, yet you don't believe there might have been a rehearsal for Footsee, next time you come here I'll show you Bowie doing an unbroadcast run through of Queen Bitch on the OGWT, guess what, supposed to have been wiped except I've got it.

I was only reading this thread at the weekend, odd that you should stumble across it too, certainly made me sit and contemplate for a while, still a much missed guy.

On a similar theme, Richard Searling used to have a crafty tipple at the Casino some nights and I can well remember him introducing John Leach as "Put that whiskey down". Also introducing Ben Zine as "Village of paraffin". Comedy was different in those days.

Excuse me. I did not know who the seller was. He replied to me with the name PAUL he could have Paul McCartney for all I knew! I don't the names of everyone on here, probably not half of them. I do know Paul, he's bought loads of me in the past, but I didn't know this was him.

What makes you say that? They were a folk-pop group, nothing to do with soul as far as I know. Also may have been in house songwriters at ABC but not necessarily fake groups.

But you see the problem - as soon as this went up for sale, I had PM's asking if it existed, I could only reply that I'd never seen or heard of one and didn't know anyone else who had, I had no idea who the seller was, and even if the seller was Jesus Christ himself I'd still have wanted to see a scan of the record. So at least three of the moderators were a little concerned about it, so I try and get it clarified and see what happens? We just can't win.

Insinuating that those people who dared ask to see a scan are not 'respected dj's. What's your problem? You wouldn't be so sarcastic if you thought you were getting ripped off and you wanted the moderators to do something about it, would you?

24 hours later we all await a scan Nige. I PM'd yesterday, soon as the ad went up. I don't know who the seller is anyway, it says RANDY, how am I supposed to know who that is, it could be Simon Soussan for all I know, so I'm not calling whoever it is into question, I just want to see a picture of the record. Had I seen one yesterday I'd have bought it on the spot.

I remember about 18 years ago, I photocopied the Northern page from every Black Echoes up to then, and threw the entire lot of original papers away. Earlier this year I came across the hundreds of photocopied pages. And I threw them away as well

What utter rubbish Rob, the only complete set of Black Echoes, I bet there are dozens of complete sets, how can anyone say they've got the only complete set of a publication? Yes but up until now this record doesn't exist Rod, that's a bit different to the usual fare for sale on here. If people send us messages of concern we have to be seen to be doing something about it. And note I say US and not ME. Don't make it personal. Why people have trouble attaching scans is weird, take a photo, click ATTACH FILE and it does it for you.

The moderators are uncomfortable about the fact that there is no scan of the record being made available by the seller. If it was a £10 record it wouldn't matter, but £400 is a lot of money. Could the seller please put a scan up of the item.
