  1. I can't comment because I don't know any of the records.
  2. Dunno, don't think I saw the thread. Hang on a minute
  3. It's quite nice. A few months back I picked up the original demo acetate of this record, a publishers demo, unknown female artist. In fact I think I put it on one of my podcasts. Nice version but a bit scratchy.
  4. I have absolutely no idea what you've just sold!

Can't really see much on there thats worth more than a few quid, if the Otis Smith was an original, thats a nice find, but going by the labels that the other 45's are on, I'd take it to be a reissue (the reissue has an instrumental version on the b side)
  6. What am actually asking is are some sellers TREATING their customers like mugs with their pricings?

Yeah you should be able to get 3 copies for that!

£75 is a fair price, nevertheless I'm pretty sure I've seen it on here for £150
  9. I never stopped - was going to, but changed my mind and started selling my UK stuff off instead - and with the money I got from them, bought just US stuff again so there's going to be a cracking list out next week
  10. OK then, anyone hazard a guess how much I should ask for this record below? Or rather, if YOU, reader, were selling it, what would you ask for it? It's a very rare and pretty desireable white demo of a record that probably goes for £75 on an issue (or £100 on here), this white demo is VG+/vg++ and it plays great with a few pops here and there.
  11. I'm just trying to get to the reason why people offer their records for sale at higher prices on here than they would on a mailing list or in a sales box. Obviously a lot of people don't do that. But it's this VG/VG+ business that puzzles me the most.
  12. One on ebay ending today Vince, currently about 160 quid.
  13. But how can anyone possibly describe a cracked record as being EX?
  14. I'm not going to get into an argument with anyone but there's a record gone for sale on here in the last 3 days for £400 which I sell/sold for £125. One of us has got to be wrong.
  15. Going by the prices that many sellers place on records sold on Soul Source, I'd say that most of these sellers take the customers for mugs. I see records priced, two, three even four times what they're actually worth. I see VG+ records offered at mint prices, all the time. Does anyone buy off these people? This week I've seen a dozen or so records offered in sales that I wouldn't have minded buying, but most of them are for sale at DOUBLE what I sell them for. Either people who buy these records are very rich, or just not up to speed on what records are actually worth. Why would anyone buy a VG+ record for £150 when they could buy a mint one for £125?
  16. Pete's on here as Ricticman.
  17. Interesting this, glad I asked because I was only going to stick £20 on it. Now it'll be £25
  18. Let me guess, 50 quid??
  19. No I quite like this actually. I got two copies out of Discoveries about 9 years back, sold for £250 each, never had a sniff of anything like £500 each though.
  20. Maybe not too many Andy Williams fans around any more? (It's got to be him, hasn't it?)
  21. Isn't it pointless having a semi-automated auction? It's either got to be one thing or the other. Why can't the proxy bids go on automatically?
  22. sorry, misread something
  23. I think this is quite a difficult record to value, it's JACKIE EDWARDS - KEEP ON RUNNING - WIRL (Jamaica). Obviously this is the original of the Spencer davis group hit and is a great Northern version, one went on ebay for $101 but that was on Beverlys which is a reissue of this one, so was just wondering if anyone's ever seen one sold or sold one themselves.
