Thanks Sebastian, it came off a compilation called "Found in the basement" which features mainly obscure US recordings circa 1958-65 - I've got about 6 volumes I think. Anyway I know what to look for now, many thanks.

I know absolutely nothing about this one, can't see it in any books or on ebay, you'll no doubt hate it but I'm a sucker for haunting beat ballads, whether they're blue eyed or not, so I quite like this one. n.b. I have only ever heard it once before posting it.

Contempo imported original copies of the Audio Arts lp's, changed the cover with a sticker and sold them in UK shops - they even had it in our village record shop

Well said Matt. Some of these ebay sellers are as thick as pigsh&t, they charge triple actual amount for postage, they don't put card in the mailers, they can't grade the records properly and they can't communicate. I sell a lot of records on ebay and they get mailed out the same day or the following day as the customer pays, same as on my mailing list. Last week I was late with one record, and that was actually because we thought Grace was very ill and I didn't have time to tell the buyer I couldn't get to the post office - but he understood. Only takes a second to write a message. p.s. will you come with me next time I need to threaten someone

OK panic over, it arrived today, but how difficult is it for someone to say there's gonna be a delay? Incidentally the record was esther Phillips - Just Say Goodbye - UK Atlantic - 21 quid.

It's not in the slightest bit rare, all the Marvels records are common and all are home produced second rate ska, it's a five quid record tops. Ask Tony Rounce.

1) Bessie Banks version is a poor second to the Moodys version, just because it's the original and she's black doesn't mean it's the best. 2) The Moody Blues were never a prog rock band. They became overblown and pompous for certain but they didn't play prog rock. And they still managed to release a few nifty singles like Ride My Seesaw.

Think I may have a problem. Won a record on ebay over a week ago, paid immediately. No sign of the record (it's only 15 miles away), and the seller won't reply to my emails (2 so far). So it looks to me as if he's not going to let me have the record because I got it way cheaper than it's rally worth. Anything I can do about this?

In that case I think I'd definitely be interested - I can convert them to dvd if you want
