  1. I think so - I've got two copies and both are as you describe
  2. Can't believe the prices people pay for that Jayboy rubbish. I couldn't sell an unplayed one for £75 last year. Must be the wrong strategy, if I'd have put £150 on it then it might have gone. Who wants to give me £500 for my Ray merrell?
  3. Speechless.
  4. I've got that one on a Pye demo, it's identical to the original.

Best books are The Rough Guide To reggae, should be available everywhere, and one called Reggae & Carribean Musi9c by dave Thompson (www.backbeatbooks.com) not sure how much but I bought it for 4.99 in Walsall a few years ago - this is so good I've read the print off it, and it reviews hudreds of 45's from the 60's. The two books by Sanctuary are good too, Tighten Up and Young Gidted & Black, all about Trojan and the UK reggae scene, both still available. Music wise, see if you can find any of my old podcasts (search on here) if I was able to advertise I could do you a few thousand tracks on disc but I can't so... there's a few forums too, will try and get back to you with more info but looks like I have to go out for a bit!
  8. LOTP was 64 - Condition Red about 68.
  9. So was it a bad experience in France that drove you to write "I don't like Toulouse?" sorry...

    Bastard.
  16. Someone posted it on the Pama site - it's authentic as well, 1969 or 1970, a superhero called "The Skinhead", think there is another pic too, yep, no actually it's a brilliant photoshop job, the date (July 1967) gives it away for a start

  18. Blimey - thanks! I just took a chance after hearing 30 seconds of each. Des says he's sold the Bobby John in the past for 30-40 quid but the John Colbert may well be a new one then? Shall we start again Mik?
  19. I bet that was good, the original being so fantastic
  20. No but we had a tremendous storm here just now, lightning, flash floods, the lot...maybe it arrived at your place!
  21. Dave I have no idea about the value of that record but I can point you in the direction of some people who would definitely be able to tell you about it, if you want me to..
  22. Are you on about that twangy guitar intro? That's from Mickey & Sylvia's "Love is strange". I really like that one...
  23. Yeah it's a different type of music - Tony Rivers & The Castaways played west coast harmony pop - Beach Music really doesn't have that many similarities with Northern Soul apart from the fact they dance to SOME old r&b records
  24. I doubt if there are many unknown records nowadays, except with these 3 I hadn't heard them before so I bought them for next to nothing...nothing earthshaking but not too bad...coming up
  25. Sorry, bumping this for those who missed it
