Much as I love ska & rocksteady - there's no place for it at a Northern do. As a second room, for definite, but not to mix in with Northern

Thanks Paul. Couldn't resist buying that repro on ebay.

I remember one of the fanzines reporting this at the time - was early 80's - and I think they reprinted the Detroit news article. Lester was murdered by an intruder at his home if I remember correctly.

Ahem. I agree with every single word Paul says.

I've made a living from selling records on the internet for over 10 years now, I was the first one to stop doing paper lists and go email only, and was told I must be mad. How many records have I sold since then - thousands. How many events have I been to with a box of sales? Maybe 3?
  13. The reissue also has the Warner logo at the bottom of the label, it's unmissable
  14. Just for their own amusement by the looks of it!
  15. I'll have a think!
  16. Don't know the Jimmy Bailey but the Jackie Edwards is a straight pop record, composed by him, I've got it but it's not very good, the beat ballad on the other side is quite nice though
  17. Thanks Matt. I've actually got an issue and a demo here at the moment, not had that happen before

There's a reggae record that I absolutely love, one of the most soulful reggae vocals there is, by The Uniques entitles Out Of Love. What I didn't realise is that it's a cover of a Manhattans number called I'm the one that love forgot. I just wondered if anyone could put the whole Manhattans track up here because the minute long clip below is absolutely mind blowing, one of the most haunting tracks I've ever heard I think. The Manhattans is below and I'll put the link to The Uniques version below that one.

No but you may get it off his website, Paisley Haze records
  24. Anywhere that sell bootlegs really..they're all over ebay
  25. The problem with this auction Craig is that the fake bidder has made the second highest bidder pay 100 quid more than he would have paid had he been the winner - although if you bid 300 I guess you should be prepared to pay that. The third legit bid was 175, thats about right because I sold my copy of the same record for 200 about 6 weeks ago. If you get stuck with it, I'll give you 175 for it.
