  1. This is a very tricky one....but the fact is that people start to leave nighters from 3am on. And after 5am the poor DJ's have a half empty room to play to....also, staff want to get home....I think 6am is sensible now....also, if the room is booked for the next day, the managment need to get some sleep, so they can clean the room, and set up all over again... ....in the old days when there was no alchohol and the venue was just booked for the one night, there was no problem. And of course we were all young, and had nothing to rush home for.... Phil.

The more I learn about these rare records, the more I'm convinced that most of them aren't as rare as we once thought....the internet has opened up a window on the world. Money talks...and it seems that everytime a biggie goes for a large sum on one of the auctions....more copies suddenly appear.... Anyway, as far as my very limited knowledge is aware, the rarest record of them all is....THE CONTESSA - NEED YOUR LOVE - LAZ BAR.....one copy only....Guy Hennigan spin I think, and sold to Tim Brown....then sold on Tim's list.. ...but he can't remember who bought it. Anyone know who owns it now? I would love to get my hands on it.... Phil.
  8. cynthia & imaginary 3 - 278 What a bargain... ....one of the most soulful records of all time, pure female Detroit magic.....

  10. You've gone from the fairly easy, to the imposible....well nearly. Was just speaking with Ian Cunliffe yesterday, and he was talking of selling his Sidney Barnes on JM's auction.....send him a PM....he's on here as IANCSLOFT....THAT IS A TOUGH RECORD....

  12. If you ever get a soundfile, I'd love to hear it... Phil.
  13. Thanks for the info, must be pretty scarce, I can't find a soundfile anywhere.. Phil.
  14. Carol Mogan - I've Got Everything (Born Don't know this, is it northern?
  15. Many thanks everyone for the information.....I was told a ton max, but thought I was missing something when I saw John's price.....nobody want to flog me one then? Mind, if it's so well known, I'm not sure if I want it now....
  16. I've just put this up in the wants section, I quite like it and I was going to have a bid in John's auction.... But my idea of it's value must be way out?....I thought about a ton?......What do you think....I don't have any British stuff so I have no idea of values.....but I asked around, and was told around the ton.....it's double that now... Phil.
  17. What's the situation with this record? I quite like it and was going to bid on John's auction, but my idea of it's value must be way out???? I thought around a ton? Already way past that....anyone got one for sale? What's the real value? I'd like a copy if anyone wants to sell / trade... Phil.

  21. Nice to read such an upbeat thread.....I actually feel sorry for todays young people, most of whom will never be given the chance to hear this incredible music of ours..... no wonder they behave like animals, they have nothing to look forward to..... Phil.
