Adam, did you sell your Richard Caiton???? Just looked in Browny's new guide...£350.. so I'll give you double that if you still have it....I am the kind man of soul... Phil.
  2. Yes many thanks Chalky, I just wanted to make sure it was the right tune.....all for nowt I'm afraid...DJ honky beat me again. ....he must have a fantastic collection by now... ...wish he'd go back to buying funk records.... Phil.
  3. Thank you kindly Reg.... Phil.

I've heard so many stories of collectors / DJ's selling up and putting their money into something else....then low and behold, within a short while they are back at it again. Buying back their collection, and more....if it's in the blood, you can't just give it up.....you have to have something to aim for in life.....and chasing rare records keeps you going... Phil.

Sorry, I meant that Andy might let you have an MP3 that's all....
  7. It don't affect you the same Andy, because of the numbers involved. When you have a small nighter, with regular 100 to 200 guests, you don't need many to leave to lose the atmosphere. Especially now with loads of people outside having a smoke, and as you well know, there are only a small amount that dance all night.... Phil.
  8. Need a soundfile of this please.... Phil.

Cheers Chalky...by the way I've just been desperately trying to find a sounfile of the IDOLS ON USA.....I can't remember if I like it or not.. ....do you have one perchance? Phil.
  12. This is a very tricky one....but the fact is that people start to leave nighters from 3am on. And after 5am the poor DJ's have a half empty room to play to....also, staff want to get home....I think 6am is sensible now....also, if the room is booked for the next day, the managment need to get some sleep, so they can clean the room, and set up all over again... ....in the old days when there was no alchohol and the venue was just booked for the one night, there was no problem. And of course we were all young, and had nothing to rush home for.... Phil.

The more I learn about these rare records, the more I'm convinced that most of them aren't as rare as we once thought....the internet has opened up a window on the world. Money talks...and it seems that everytime a biggie goes for a large sum on one of the auctions....more copies suddenly appear.... Anyway, as far as my very limited knowledge is aware, the rarest record of them all is....THE CONTESSA - NEED YOUR LOVE - LAZ BAR.....one copy only....Guy Hennigan spin I think, and sold to Tim Brown....then sold on Tim's list.. ...but he can't remember who bought it. Anyone know who owns it now? I would love to get my hands on it.... Phil.
  19. cynthia & imaginary 3 - 278 What a bargain... ....one of the most soulful records of all time, pure female Detroit magic.....

  21. You've gone from the fairly easy, to the imposible....well nearly. Was just speaking with Ian Cunliffe yesterday, and he was talking of selling his Sidney Barnes on JM's auction.....send him a PM....he's on here as IANCSLOFT....THAT IS A TOUGH RECORD....
  22. I thought that was it's value Ted? ps. never seen a White demo...
  23. If you ever get a soundfile, I'd love to hear it... Phil.
