Betty Swanne C/u For Sale £2,250
Sorry Mick, but you can't possibly rate this Betty Swan in the same league as those two?

Betty Swanne C/u For Sale £2,250
Now that is very true, and I have had to hold my hand up on a few occasions in the past. However in my defence I have got some very decent quality speakers plugged into my computer these days, and am able to ratchet the volume up to get a better "feel" of any sound file.

I like Tommy & The Derby's. I once tried to cover a record up, before it was half way through someone came up to the decks and told me what it was.

The Gaylettes On Black Jack
Just shows how rare it is when all the knowledgable people on here don't know anything about it.

Never Mind Simon Soussan. Who Was Bob Cataneo?
I used to buy and trade records with him in the seventies, and I heard stories about him being involved in bootlegging some northern records. Anyone know his story?

I'm all in favour of cover up's, but they need to be worth covering. Otherwise who cares?

Masqueraders
Dave I was trying to make a joke. You said I had taken a sabbatical. Lighten up. We never claimed to have discovered anything new at Burnley, and it was the punters that called it the Burnley sound. We never claimed to be anything special. We all have different tastes at the end of the day. Personally the Gentleman Four does nothing for me, but I don't like Marmite either.

Sorry Benji I hit the wrong letter on the iPad. Either that or sometimes the spell check takes over.

I know Bengi but the record before the news is always a throw away. She should have played it after the news is what I meant.- 'send Him Back' On Radio 2 Drivetime
Like I said in the other thread, she rather spoilt it by fading it out for the news. A bit like Simon Mayo who uses fantastic records as background and then plays the biggest pile of poo. Drives me insane.- Masqueraders
Never taken drugs Dave.- Betty Swanne C/u For Sale £2,250
It's a sad state of affairs that we have come to this and Sir Joe etc as the best new discoveries. Time me to call it a day?- Annoying Things The Media Say When They Talk About Northern Soul
I'll tell you hat is annoying, Lisa Tarbuck played the Pointer Sisters - send him back on Radio 2 tonight as I was driving home. I was amazed. Then what does she do? Fades it out for the six o'clock news.- Masqueraders

Thing is though Dave, Do you love me is a fantastic record. Gentlemen Four is a Marmite record. I'm pretty sure Do you love me has been going for big money for a while now. A minty one especially. There are a lot with cue burn about.- The Gaylettes On Black Jack
Was it played out?- The Gaylettes On Black Jack
Can anyone tell me anything about this 45? Who played it first, where and when? I only know it off the "For Millionaires Only" Cd. Never heard it played out, and never seen a copy.- Ray Agee, are There Any Playable On Original Label
It was said light heartedly, no need to take offence.- King Errison Zola
That looks spot on to me. Great record I always loved it.- Anglo American Latest Auction
I agree about the Blue Sharks, it's one of those Marmite records. But I've never seen a copy of the Gayletts, or ever heard it played.- Not A Blatant Plug Honest
I don't understand that Mike. JM gets constant posts about his auction. Ady gets headline posts about the 100 club, as do Lifline etc. what's the difference?- Not A Blatant Plug Honest
Exactly, never even seen one before Ted.- Not A Blatant Plug Honest
How really dare you.- Not A Blatant Plug Honest
Tim is a friend of mine, and I put his list up on this forum as a favour to him. But I very rarely get over to see him these days. I just looked at his latest auction though and was staggered at some of the 45's on there. I only wish I could afford to by a couple of them. I presume he has just bought a collection, as records of this caliber very rarely turn up these days. JM's auction has been a bit flat in the last few weeks [in my humble opinion] but it looks like Anglo American auctions are going to be very interesting for the next few months. I have just added the link in the ebay/website sales section. Have a look, see what you think. - 'send Him Back' On Radio 2 Drivetime
