Like I said earlier, the trousers aren't as bad as the flared skirts, ankle socks, ribbons and tattoos that the women wear. Where the hell did that look come from? And where do the flat caps come from? The only people who wore them in the seventies were our dads.

That'll be "Snake and Vac" surely?

On the clothes thing. The guys are bad enough, but to see fifty year old woman in flared skirts with ankle socks and covered in tattoos I find repulsive. I never went to Wigan, but I don't ever remember seeing lasses dressed like that in the seventies.

Bobby Angelle, I can see everyone looking for copies as we speak. They'll be one on Manship's auction before long, and it'll be a grand. Why oh why the fancy dress?
  5. It's taken you a long time to get that off your chest mate. Back in 1977 you had to have the big tunes of the day to get people to dance.
  6. Backing track is superb, but I could write a better song over it than that. Sounds like she is just making it up as she goes along.
  7. You could try asking Ady Croasdale. Send him a PM he may be able to help. I used to play it before it was released on vinyl. I had it cut from the Cd. Fantastic tune.
  8. A few years ago that would have made me moist. Funny how time changes us.
  9. Oi Lee, NO! Everyone knows that the Velvet Hammer tune is pure class. The other thing isn't fit to share the same space. That is all. Happy Birthday by the way.
  10. I still think it should have been "show us your bird" A bit like readers wives.
  11. I used to deal with Bob in the early seventies, and can always remember him sending me a short list of wants and the Inspirations was one of them. I packed it in around 1976 and never heard the record until twenty years later on a Cd. That was the re recording, didn't hear the original until years later. I prefer the re recorded version, wouldn't mind a copy if anyone has a spare.
  12. I know it's not soul but a friend asked me to try and get him a copy and it's obviously pretty rare, so any UK collectors that can help, I would be obliged.
  13. Try getting £7-800 for a Kenny Gamble with black text.
  14. I thought all the Arctics with black print were second issues?
  15. Mr. Manship telling porkies? Surely not?
  16. Hurrah!!!!!!!!!

  18. He said it was the backing track to the Stanley Evans test press. I have played the Pal and the Prophets, and it ain't nothing like that record.
  19. I just tried to look at the "best into of all time" thread. Complete waste of time there must be millions of embedded clips on there. Please stop embedding them. We all fookin know 'em anyway.

  21. Just put the link up then Brian instead of embedding it. See post number 34.
  22. Was told by a mate that he once found a record by The Fantastic Johnny C entitled The Whip on Phil-la of soul. Now then I have searched high and low on t'internet, found the label listing on Soulful Kinda Music etc. etc. But nothing. There is a 45 called The Whip by Pal and the Prophets on the label, but it's not the same tune. So, is it a Jackanory job or does anyone know if it actually exists?
  23. Just copy and paste the address. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=linda+jones+just+can%27t+live+my+life
