Awesome piece of dance music.............first time I heard this I thought I'd died and gone to heaven.

You've gone too far now Russ. You can't compare this "classic" with that other pile. Probably the greatest sax and hammond break...............[pause for effect, then in a Clakson voice]..............In the world.

This has got to be one of the toughest classics to get, I've never had one. In my all time top ten.
  6. my God......................all I did was copy and paste a small section of the ebay listing. I'm never doing that again, it's just taken me an hour to delete it all.
  7. Godz, did you open your account on ebay uk? just wondered if that had any bearing. Also have you looked in your "my ebay" section on ebay.com? I always start my sales from there. Also if your feedback is private you can't sell anything. Sorry I'm just picking at straws, trying to find an explanation. I've just had another look mate. just put $4 in the US postage section, then fill in the International postage section and make sure you click on worldwide. It's this section that sorts it out.

that made me laugh. I remember when I started going out to soul do's again, must have been about 2004. I went down to my local event, with a guy who I had known only slightly from back in the day. Anyway I don't drink and him and his mates wanted a taxi, but I digress............it was only after we had been stood at the bar a few minutes when we turned around to look at the dance floor..............I looked at all three of my companions to see what they were wearing.............I couldn't believe my eyes..........every piece of clothing they had on was black...............then I noticed that most of the other blokes were dressed the same. I felt very out of place in my clothes of many colours..........I asked my mate if I should go home and change......
  10. First of all, make sure you are on the ebay.com site when you do your listings. You need to tick the box saying "worldwide", also you can't alter the US shipping part, it always goes to $4 no matter what you do. I add a note at the bottom of the listing with my postage charges.
  11. Great stuff Steve. I tried to organise a regular soul event at the sink a couple of years ago. Problem is, it's so successful as a live music gig, they would only let me book it on a week day. As you walk down those stairs you can feel the history. Magic!

Of course, I'm wearing one as I type this.

I don't agree, I think the youngsters in the you tube clips in London look far cooler. The other kids just look like they are in fancy dress.

It was fashionable in the early 70's, and if you look at video of the later big events like Stafford, Blackburn etc. then you can see most are dressed in the 80's fashions, with a few still hanging on to the past.

It's a free world, and if people want to "dress up" then fair enough. But, I was saddened to see pictures of some youngsters wearing the baggies, vests and circle skirts. I can understand the oldies wanting to relive their youth, but I rather hoped that any youngsters coming to the music would find their own identity. At least the mod revivalists look cool.
  16. That's reasonable Mike, I will know in future. mmmm, I can't get any smileys again.
  17. Sorry Mike, I was just gauging interest and I thought the thread had accomplished that. Also, I didn't want it descending into a who likes funk and who doesn't thread.

  22. OK thanks to all who have contributed to this thread and the PM's you have sent. I will try one and see if it's popular, then maybe do a few limited CD's for the old "children of the night" that used to support us every month. Thanks again. Phi.
  23. Many thanks for the information Roger.
  24. Yes, I can do it, but it takes a bit of doing. Just thinking I may be better just putting it onto CD.
  25. This side was a big play for Cliff & Stu at the old Burnley Allnighters.
