  1. Oooh, that Cookie V you sold me the other week fits the bill Adam!
  2. Always had a soft spot for the Alan Haven UK cover - probably from hearing it so often on Radio Caroline at the time!
  3. From memory, I'm 90 per cent sure that it is...
  4. Only that 108 Let your conscience be your guide is the same as the B-side of Jackie Lee's The Duck on Mirwood!
  5. Morning Pete, hmmm....sure I saw a young lady with a stack of Pzazz stuff not long back....
  6. Yes, but simply for the fact that it's good, not necessarily for monetary value!
  7. So which version is it on the four track Defected vinyl EP then? Whichever, I love it (as I do the whole CD album...)
  8. Looks about right - thanks for that John! Several Jimmy Wisner and Lew Futterman productions in there, but an annoying tape "wow" on "You can't sit down"!
  9. Also came out on a UK UA compilation called "Rave" - again the blue and silver design.
  10. Good rant Steve, but this bit is actually true - they were his backing band on a UK tour and in an interview in either Black Echoes or B & S he said something like "...their name is Rose Royce and they're going to be big" or something similar.
  11. Look forward to hearing that Paul! All the best Jerry.
  12. Just dug out my 12" copy of Rhyze "Just how sweet is your love" - forgotten what a good little boogie tune it is, just had to play it on the radio today!
  13. Listen to the fadeout - the dark blue boot (which was the first AFAIK) has a clearly audible sound dropout. Dead giveaway!
  14. No thanks, my life's not that empty...
  15. I don't think so, at Soulfusion it's very pleasant outside (when weather permits!), and some of the best gossip and backchat went on outside when I was at Oxford, Warwick and Coppertops recently to name but three.
  16. That's sad...you can still see what you missed, along with more old photos, at: https://soulstuff.co.uk/Yate/YateMainPage.htm
  17. Pete, I was as surprised as you when I saw it in a sales box at Warwick for 80 quid not long back, Mr. Rimmer had one at a bit less - had to put my minter back in the main box after 20-plus years!
  18. So many names bringing back memories...Kenny, at least you've still got the pictures in your mind, I hope - I know I have! Hippo.
  19. Don't know if Ady can answer this, but if (as I think) Darkest Days was leased to ABC would the rights have reverted to the producer and so be available for inclusion? There again, as it wasn't actually on Mirwood, I suppose that's academic...I'll get me coat...
  20. No, our mobile disco had a gang of us, all into various stuff from soul to rock, we had a residency at a youth club and played pop and current soul, and as the soul buzz started to grow (it was a very "in crowd" thing) we played more and more. In fact quite a few from that club are still around on the scene! Same in the early disco/club days, it was slotted in with funky stuff and pop.
  21. Certainly was played in those early days, youth club favourite along with Flaming Embers "Westbound N0.9" and the Invictus stuff. Of course, this was before the import scene really started, so us mobile jocks fell hungrily on anything readily available!
  22. Guilty as charged m'lud ...and yes, we know who they are!
  23. Watch out Dave, or we'll have a real "trainspotter" trying to identify the exact class of engine!
