  9. Had an EMI of ADAM'S APPLES ' DON'T TAKE IT OUT ' when it was a monster in 1976, also still got an EMI I had ordered in the early 90's, one side GEORGE LEMONS, the other side GEORGE PEPP.
  10. Very good late 60's? obscurity, ' ME AND MY GIRL ' by THE ENERGETICS on TIP TOP Records - see Manship has it at £75, any cheaper copies out there ?
  11. Just won a copy of the excellent Raymond Martin ' I'm guilty of loving you ' on Composer's recording Co. records, fantastic 74 penned Oscar Perry Texas soul (other side ' I'm gonna find you ') almost as good - where was this first played ? Thanks, Jez.
  12. Still looking for a copy of BULL ' Bygones ' on Bell, a fairly nice VG+ would suffice ( can't really afford £250 for a near mint copy ) - anyone got one for sale. or may be thinking of selling in the near future ? Thanks, Jez.
  13. Hello Frank, thanks for the kind hospitality over the weekend from you and your lovely girlfriend. Will be down again in the summer, with fishing rod / cider / beer / wine / brandy / tasty barbeque goodies / soulful x-over / semi-known gems / 70's soulful giants / west coast stormers / etc etc. Wonder if Tim Brown wants to buy my Lou Curtan for £200 ...then he can make £100 profit on it !!! Best, Jez.
  14. IF IT'S A BOOTLEG, AND A FAIRLY AVAILABLE 45, WHY DID TIM BROWN PRICE IT AT £300 IN HIS BOOK - WAS IT THOUGHT TO BE RARE WHEN HE COMPILED HIS GUIDE ?
  15. ANYONE KNOW THE STORY ABOUT THE COPIES OF 'HEAVEN IN THE AFTERNOON' (ORIG BY LEW KIRTON ON ALSTON) ON THE PAD LABEL (P120), CREDITED TO THE LOU CURTAN REVUE, AND WITH A FLIP SIDE OF 'LOVE' BY THE ROBERT WINTER BAND ? ALL THE COPIES ON PAD I'VE SEEN ARE YELLOW (AND THERE SEEMS A FEW ABOUT) - SURELY NOT THE SAME ISSUE THAT IS PRICED AT £300 IN THE ESSENTIAL NORTHERN PRICE GUIDE EDITION TWO ? WHY CHANGE THE SPELLING OF THE ARTISTS NAME - IS THIS TO AVOID PAYING SOMEONE ROYALTIES, OR SOMETHING ? ALL SUGGESTIONS / ANSWERS WELCOMED. THANKS, JEZ. SPALDING.
  16. If that is the case, I'm amazed, it just dosen't sound like a big money item to me - in fact, I have the other version by Jay Wiggins, which I guess is 2 or 3 years earlier, and I like that one more. I think I bought The Billy Soultree blind from someone's box at the old Notts. County niter some 10 years ago, and only paid £3 or £4 for it ! Never heard it played out, perhaps it is one of those records which sound so much better over a big loud system at a big venue ? Anyone know which DJ was spinning it ? Thanks, Jez.
  17. I HAVE BILLY SOULTREE ' I AM THE MAN ' ON ROCK RECORDS G1-1001 (lightish red label) ...quite nice early 70's semi-latinish sounding midtempo sound, does anyone know if this is the same release I read was being played up north last year, by a Dj whose name I can't recall ? Thanks, Jez. Spalding.
