Just out of curiosity! The acetate from a few months back that was original but parts of the laquer missing! If the person who bought it had the acetate re-laquered and the Mel britt regrooved into it would it be still an original say like an antique but listed as a damaged repaired.?

If you want it for Last night changed it all then it might be more than you think as copies regulalry go on ebay for £40 -50 and a few years ago was even 70-80 This is still heavily wanted by the Yanks. Ah the old Chestnut - Rarity Rarity can only be qualified by Provenance otherwise you can just think of a number in your head and that will do! Provenance- Is where their is empirical evidence (usually in written form) to back up a spoken statement. I love it when someone comes on here and says only 5 copies known ! - To who are they known - maybe their is 5000 copies because the person saying only 5 copies known has only come across information they retain and apply. Whereas a piece of paper from the record company saying we have withdrawn the release and all copies except 2 have been destroyed is evidence of rarity! We dont need to see the 2 copies left we assume the letter is of genuine intent and a we all apply the same conclusion. Thats a rarity in itself!

I also forgot to add the represses have a very sharp edge because of the lighter vinyl - You can nealry cut yourself on it whereas the roginal is quite blunt at the edge

I hate to say this but I am, repeating myself You have to be careful with this one The originals are heavy vinyl and the text on the label is clear The represses are light vinyl (meaning you can see through them againt a light bulb) and the text has an edging blur which detects a label copy. John Manship is still undecided on this as the 2 copies that were sent to him might have been heavy vinyl. I know one was cos it was mine & I bought it from Soul sam some years ago and he paid a near 4 figure for it off JM. Unfortunately alot of people have been caught by this one and are trying to sell the represses as originals. On a side note to this I also had a discussion with a person in the US who when I approached him about this as he had regularly been selling copies on EBAY told me to, I quote "Wise up Steve - This is business" You can deduct from that quote that I had found him out!
