Following you too Russ, but in this case I don't know if the twist would make sense. The production of Philips was bigger than the Blue Rock one but, the 3 on Philips here were issued in March 1965. While for the Blue Rock, only Johnnie Mae Matthews was issued in March 1965, Big Franck I don't know and the Triplets was issued in May 1965. And there you have a bigger time gap to slide in a change of label to target the public better. Even though, most copies I've seen had cuts and so it wasn't such a good seller I believe. But maybe someone out there knows better for facts. One other thing, there's no promo of both the Philips and the Blue Rock release, I know this happens for different reasons but in this case, it's only the Big Franks that don't get it. Both the ones before and after did got promo releases !

I kind of always thought, heard and read that the Blue Rock release was prior to the Philips one. I remember an old topic here about the glued on Blue Rock labels with Philips ones over theories... Here I go; with a closer inspection I come to understand that the Philips was actually first and the Blue Rock second but by very little bits... Anyone knows better ? The matrix number tells this; Blue Rock B-4011 is YW1-35244, now B-4012 is YW1-34872 (decreasing !!!) & B-4013 is YW1-35248 (increasing !!!) where for the Philips it's all chronological, most logically; 40282 is PHW1-34179, 40283 is PHW1-34872 and 40284 is PHW1-35355 !!!

It depends if the seller on Discogs put a photo of his actual copy or the one from the Discogs "collection". The golden styrene press is the better one IMHO. It has strings that suits the tune and give it more depth somehow. Also I've only seen promos of the styrene one. Which indicate that they were the first pressed. The yellow label version is on vinyl and don't have the strings !!!

What do(es) you (that) mean Mal ? 'to choose' is the only non 45 edited track from the LP but what a tune !

this bootleg variation uses the label/design/fonts of the styrene promo and issue while the original vinyl editions were using totally different label designs and fonts from different pressing plants; Hence the last one here is a Chicago press and it's the only one not mentioning the Vee-Jay distribution thing... while they were pressed there !

Overall a nice Vg+++ due to some marks and scuffs on the styrene and a name written on label and light wear. Often trashier than this or much more expensive nowadays. That's good !!! Was thinking to do the same after the seller didn't reply to my last PM which felt like he was admitting the fact that his description was a cheat somehow.

So I contacted him with this message; 'You should mention in your item description that this is not an original press (hence I don't mention (the B**T word) what it is exactly or eBay will retrieve this auction) and contact all actual bidders so they can revise their bids accordingly.' He replied politely as Marc Forrest just did here above. Then I answered him but no answer yet to this; 'OK, now I've read it (top & bottom) but you have to read close and search for it. A bit like those tiny characters on the label of a beverage that they don't want you to read. Do you believe that those high bidders have read that ? Ray Barretto contemporary Belgian issue to the 1968 Fania USA one. Thick vinyl that sounds as good as a golden Fania one. Art sleeve is missing. Ex copy that plays strong as it can. Smaller holes for 6T's 45rpm's in Belgium ? What labels had that ? Here's an example on the BIEM plot; this is Holland this is Belgium and it's French counterpart and the French example. So you see SABAM is Belgian only ! SACEM is also for France only ! But BIEM was for Belgium, Holland, France and more...

Some singles in France had sometimes triangle ejectable centers in the 5T's and early 6T's. In Holland some had the rond ejectable centers but most had the big centers. In Germany I believe that all had the big centers as in Belgium.

Because those black Brunswick are ! If you know the French pressings and the Belgian ones, you can tell them appart even though it's written BIEM. You have the typos/fonts and then you have the company sleeves, the art-sleeves and the picture sleeves that are specific (when you have them, not all seem to have "deserve" one) that are another strong lead.
