Would Anyone Grade This Record Ex+ ? (Bought On Soul Source)
With reference to "polishing" I always thought it was the old trick of using black boot polish on a vinyl record to reduce the graying effect of over played (vinyl) records? to con someone into thinking they looked good? steve

Most Soulful Record

Most Soulful Record
Lorraine, you are right! if Eddie recorded this I need to hear it! was Eddie's version every released commercially? would love to hear Eddie belting this one out! I suppose you know Maxine Brown also did a version, but no way near the feeling of Ray Gant's imho (much as I adore anything Maxine does!) steve

Gotta agree with Matyn, Jr Walker will always be my fav, as ya say there must be loads of versions? One I quite like which was often thought to be LP only is by 5th Dimension. Really should be on Soul City, but managed to pick it up on this Mexican Capitol label 45! as you can see from my scan it's actually an EP, but handy for playing out 5th Dimension "What Does It Take" https://youtu.be/2x80cox0g2U ...Love Billy Davis's voice! and indeed Marilyn McCoo's!
