  1. Yes the ballad side is great too, but delighted to see this old SouL Essence spin making it across the divide.
  2. Agree it's not as instant as Wally Coco, but it's been played enough down here that I am sure Andy will get requests for it.
  3. Yes that is correct, we both dabbled with it a few years back, and I've been playing it at northern gigs as well. Also I think DtheD has also been spinning it. Steve
  4. "Here and there" Chalky? It's been a friggin constant down here mate.....
  5. Chalky when Andy comes down to Groovesville he'll find that a lot of people know it / dance to it, Why? because it's been played for a long while down here. Didn't he do 3 on Tuska? I'll have to check. Agree the Shout one is excellent as well. "Complete Opposites" "Innocent bystander" old Yarmouth spin, great and much better than Chuck Corby. The Note one is rare but not worth the price that guy wanted.....right I'll go back to sleep now.....oh except to say Wally Coco great on the dancefloor, poor on the headphones. STeve *****Post corrected.......now that brain cells functioning properly again*****
  6. A good pirce there Ted, so someone should snap up. Originally played in the very early 80s by various DJs. Kev Griffin was the first round our way (Kent) to champion it. Has also been big in Europe for some years.
  7. No idea what this is, except a very dreary pop record to my ears
  8. Both sides of Betty Fikes & the Bananas are great. "I can't lie to my heart" one of the best deepie weepies ever. Got mine a while back when Sam was clearing some quality tunes out of his box..... At the time he'd just spent a lot on an Apple & 3 Oranges.....Boom boom
  9. NCFC - it's postponed, stay in the warm instead of a wasted journey,
  10. Yes, it's Richard C under his full name.\Great sound, rarely shows up though. I paid £75 for mine some years ago. But since then I don't think demand has increased - Steve

Hi Wayne, yes plenty of copies play fine, it's the production that's a bit messy. Also tried this for several years got some reaction, not much. It's a great energy filled one for home though.
  12. Tim Brown suggested he was white Dave.....we all of course knew better of it
  13. Yes Clarkie sold his - to Japan I believe he told me....
  14. I also have a yellow issue
  15. Yes quite a few copies about. It's not common, but it's not rare either. If that makes sense.....
  16. Here is what I posted before Chalky: Right orig has narrower run out groove, and actually looks like a 60s record with a flat edge. Unlike the pressing which has a wider run out and more rounded edges if that makes sense. Also orig has BB223 A in run out in v small letters, boot has BEE 223 A in run out in spread out larger letters. I'm an anorak right?Anyway hope that helps....Steve This post has been edited by Steve G: 14 Apr 2010 - 06:32 PM
  17. Have been playing it on and of for several years, not yet had it's day.
  18. The answer is in the old thread - nice and easy Ted!!!
  19. Kent Washburn was working with Charles Drain in Charles' RCA period (75).
  20. Thanks Glyn, BTW I think charen Cotton was 3rd release on Perception....local label before Phil O Mega.....Oh yes!!
  21. Just out of interest Glyn, any unissued stuff on here, or was it a relaunch / repackage set? I am drawing a comparrison with the thing the Holland Brothers did around the same time (Yesterday Today and Tomorrow) which had some good unissued Motown tracks (Wali Ali, Margo Michaels etc)
  22. Yeah right Ian I think it's No.11 on Perception, but that's just the old trainspotter in me, will dig in over the weekend and find it and confirm.

For me (down south) this was more of a youth club record, that'd be spun by DJs who didn't have any "proper norvern" in their box

A Wigan Casino overnight success that went massive....Haven't played it since.....maybe I should
  25. I also have Patrick Adams Kings and Queens at home somewhere......too cold to go in the lock up to find it right now though.....
