  1. Longest running thread ever? Most futile subject?
  2. Outstanding Mate Coulda done with you in Freebasing earlier, (name that oldie). Homer Banks & The Ellingtons sure had Mikey stumped
  3. Or, "I decided on a plate of spam"!
  4. Pawn shop I think mate
  5. Fair go Dawn. But you know in a lot of circs, promoters are also friends who envariably have a lot on their minds the night of a do. Just think some may be reluctant to cause them more agg. Bar staff come with the venue and they want to sell you Vittel, Volvic, Evian etc at £1.00, £1.50, £1.99 per bottle.
  6. That's fair. I wonder how many other venues are that fair and I wonder who amongst us would want to be seen as 'the troublemaker at the bar' even though it is our right.
  7. Thing is though there's tap water and there's drinking water. I've seen people drinking from the taps in the bogs, those are the one's with the dead pigeon's in the tank
  8. That Garfield Flemming's a bit sexist. I was listening to his 'Don't send me away' track at a garden party this afternoon, and he clearly says "do my flies up, get my beer"! I wouldn't stand for that if I was a chick how very dare you!
  9. There is a water dispenser at Luton. Which is nice if you've had your couple of bottles of beer quota and just want the occasional glass of water. Every where else will be bottled water, top dollar, over a quid or whatever it is. All part of rip off Britain that we, the whinging masses reluctantly accept with some rightful moaning along the way. Acid test is to see whether 'staff' would confiscate water brought to a do.

Sorry to hear that Hammy. Though the scene may be over for you, perhaps the music won't be. May the faith be with you.
  11. Was listening to the fabulous Mello Souls on the way home last night, but big chunks of the song (we can make it) are indecipherable. I wonder if the LSD (Lyrical Soul Doctor) Simon knows the meaning of the words to this £10k+ sound?

  17. For the sake of NS terminology 'biggie' is from the same gene pool as 'oldie' or 'newie'. Therefore it should be construed as a widely used and acceptable term (both spoken and written) within NS circles.
  18. I see you searching 7 pages of stuff with the term 'biggie' in them on here. Chalky used it tonight Now I know that's the written word and not spoken, but I'm thinking he (like me) speaks it too. And the man's no slouch when it comes to matters pertaining rare soul ...
  19. Ah. Oh but it's a friendly jocular term one uses with one's mates "that biggie Butch plays" ... etc. How can biggie be naff? Tell me your sensible equivalent then.
  20. frequently. Do you think it's naff then?
  21. Complimenti
  22. So Don Varner's - tear stained face, be a bit friverless and inappropriate then?
  23. There are so many songs that have words that aren't clear. Songs that have in part, been glossed over when sung along to. Just wish I could remember more of them ... Plenty of (funny) misinterpretations as well
  24. So we are agreed then Just needed reaffirmation was all. Terrible taboo, for owning pressings, ugh. Purchased feverishly as a teenager in the early eighties ... and then we grew up.
