Soul At Its Most Violent
My mate had a tape of a bootlegged different version of a Harold Melvin number - Bad Luck. This Version was called Bad F**K and featured a line about "swinging my di*k in the wind"! Silly funny

Top tunes on those cd's. Couldn't agree more with that sentiment, thought same as I was writing my 'compilation sensation' thread. Goes without saying you'd be unlikely to hear so many back to back goodies at a do.

That sucks mate. Postman once snapped a copy of The Valadiers - I found a girl. It was on Gordy not Oriel, but I was still miffed. On a brighter note, your cd went in the post this morning and should be with you soon. Chin up- Soul...what A Feeling

Not wrong Matt. Tried a different pair of shoes at last nighter. All wrong, they hadn't been danced in before and whilst they were/are quite comfortable, I found to my horror that the left one was slipping off the heel on occasion. Now you can't have that! Had to go to the car and get the 'first team' brogues- We Need Love ?

Yeah ringing in the ears - tinitus. Ever had dreams while you're awake? Thats weird, seeing flashes out the corner of your eye etc. That's a rare occurance, has to be said.- We Need Love ?
Badly trying to track down a tune, a Butch spin. Think it may ba called "We Need Love". Male vocal but very high pitched in places, wailing "come on and take my hand baby-----come on and understand baby - we need love love love". That's as much as I know. Anymore info as the artist - title would be greatfully received.- Soul...what A Feeling
Sunday after a nighter is all a bit inside a bubble type feeling. Don't leave the house, dressing gown, beard etc. You?- S4c Tv Welsh Language Soul Related Drama Oct 2005
Marna farny! My Welsh spelling none too clever me thinks. My nan never got around to teaching the spellings, just the swear words. Kacky mower - Soul...what A Feeling

Ah that's better, just put one out and after confirming this Friday afternoon off and (the all important Monday morning), I'm now officially in build up mode for the 100 Club Allnighter on Saturday. This can take many forms and I'd be interested to know how people (if they do) prepare or build up to an all night sesh. Futile kip? Few beers? Owt else? I know some step about to a few sounds in the front room (curtains closed I guess). "Every f**ker practises" Keb Darge 2004. Just the general excitement of knowing your going to be listening to fantastic sounds through big old speakers thumping it out. Dancin, few drinks, good company. A look at the records, chats with pals etc. We have weird geographical references on the journey in, "went for a p*ss in there once". Yes the whole weekend is earmarked for soul and it never lets you down. Got mates that love a bit of a whinge about the next day and yeah I don't feel right til about Wednesday. But truth is it's worth it. Invariably the build up, the night, followed by the fall out, are always justified by the halcyon high points of the night itself imo. Three til about five thirty is the best of it when everything is fluid. Anyway, takeaway tonight, probably a semi late one. Kids, so lay in nil. But when they go out I'll be napping in the afternoon. Then dinner (eat well) shower, clean your shoes and hope they don't fall to bits on the night as they've been to a hundred nighters, but they are THE shoes so, spare brogues in the car, T shirt etc. Even the sight of the talc from the last one in the grooves of the brogues whilst cleaning them can bring a smile to the face. Then it's pick up yer mate, gas up the car, Red Bull, fags, gum etc. Then off down the motorway tut Smoke, sounds on and weird rituals on route! Now I'm either top weirdo, or are there others that have shared a similar experience? Maybe many many times?- 100 Club Sensation
So that's your good self, Butch, the two Mick's and Trickster. Sounds like it has the makings of being somewhere near to the fantastic night we had there last time. Can't wait- Paul Macnamara
Maybe try this one in 'All our yesterdays' freebasing forum. Good luck- Red Nose Day
Lenny O Henry - Mr Moonlight - SMASH :tomato2:- The Triumph Of Mediocrity
That's true as is most of the above. I was 16 in 1982 and witnessed much of the same. But I do know slim blokes who dance that are of the non moustached type!- Manship Auction Vs Manship Price Guide
So I'm thinking you favour a team that WILL lose at St James's on Saturday- Compilation Sensation
https://www.danripley.com/Jason/indiana45s/...usforgotten.htm "Horton returned to Indianapolis in the early "70s and brought the Fabulous Souls with him. He took over management of the Vanguards, who had a monster hit, "Somebody Please," in 1969. The Fabulous Souls would become their backing band for a few months and even help them record their Lamp single "Good Times, Bad Times" before the two groups parted ways". Was it 69 or 70.....? Coz if that's 1970 then that's entering the realms of (dare I say it) modern soul Oh and happy birthday- Compilation Sensation
You wouldn't classify it as modern then? What year?- Compilation Sensation
Thanks Pete, wondered when you'd join us, knew you wouldn't be keen on Lew Kirton. Can't think you'd like the Vanguards either ?? - Urgently Wanted: Superglue
