The best media software for recording a dj set
what system are you using, decks onto laptop/PC I'm on a Mac and I use Traktor. I usually prepare the tracks, load into Traktor and let that do the mix. But any program will record, especially if your decks go to your PC, audacity etc especially if you are going to record whilst you play them. You get what you pay for though IMO. The other program I use on the Mac is Amadeus pro and Audio Hijack. Wavepad is another program that is free. Start with something free and practice.

HELP IDENTIFY UNKNOWN VERSION OF "I WANT YOU SO BAD", ANYBODY?
Hard to compare on the phone but he does sound different to the Jay and the Techniques vocal, yes more white but there are similarities, 28 seconds on the Jay vocals and about 33 seconds on the acetate where the vocals strains that little bit. Iโll have to look fir a Scott English vocal to compare.

Maurci Label

HELP IDENTIFY UNKNOWN VERSION OF "I WANT YOU SO BAD", ANYBODY?
It does sound similar to the lead on Jay and the Techniques, maybe another unissued take?
-
Maurci Label

Maurci (Jackson) was my daughter age 4 at the time we named the label aussi deceased January 8 , 2002 of beast cancer .. Dennis Turner is deceased. I Heard from Michael Hiller few years ago purpose Was Unable to contact him back. I saw Oliver Locke a number of years ago and that's all the contact I've had with any them since. But Michael contacted me to let me know the music was all over the internet. We had three labels: Maurci: the major one, Tri-Em: for the gospel, etc. and one called Three Jades. I lost copies of all my records many years ago and was searching online for "Come on Let's Party" when I came across you talking about Maurci Records and the Three Jades. I thought I would introduce myself. And oh yes, I,ii be eighty tomorrow. Yours sincerely, Maura Jackson, Tri Em Record Productions

Maurci Label
He did own it along with his wife and the label named after their daughter. I read this in a message on line from his wife in response to some writing about something or other to do with the Three Jades. She also named the Three Jades.

Forgotten Monsters From Wigan Etc Days
I have a great interest in the history surrounding the scene and love to know who what where when etc and I always give credit where credit is due. I've seen too may Johnny come lately's trying to take credit for something they don't rightly deserve, not so much on here but other social media.

Forgotten Monsters From Wigan Etc Days
I don't think any are forgotten though are they, all are staple soul scene plays IMO. Happy has been played constantly then as you say got hammered on the back of Ferrel Williams for some reason. Not just your selection though, a lot mentioned are far from forgotten.
-
Forgotten Monsters From Wigan Etc Days
The quest for new discoveries in every era ensured much shite was played. Thankfully, in my era anyway they soon got dropped.
-
Forgotten Monsters From Wigan Etc Days
There is a very good reason why some of these are forgotten......

Magnum Records - Help Please
Rudy Harvey was also a Dj at KDFJ and owned ither labels around the same time, Amazon etc. He could have had a hand in the label?
-
Forgotten Monsters From Wigan Etc Days
Nov 1981, highly unlikely it was played and the one who probably would have played it had left after the first โlastโ all-nighter in September. Played at Clifton Hall and Stafford.

Magnum Records - Help Please
Mercedes Music seems common for the first batch of releases at least, find out who owns that and that if possible.
