It has had some spins, Kev Fev one if I remember giving it some spins. No serious turntable action though as I remember, used to get it more on tapes.
  2. What Can A Ma Do was on a Beltone acetate.

It's definitely two different singers on the two releases and vocally the original is far superior.
  4. Just the car park that is damaged according to what I've read today, the roof the worse hit.
  5. Post 10 mate
  6. He hasn't too me either Pete but I just found his comments a bit puzzling? I don't see where JM has said he had just discovered the other side of the 45 and to insinuate he doesn't know the nighter scene since Cleethorpes is ridiculous.
  7. As Phil promotes Tim's auction and list he may have an ulterior motive with his comments? John has probably forgotten more than most of us know.
  8. Where does he say he's just discovered the best side?
  9. Butch has played it recently......

First track on this podcast..... https://www.soulunderground.co.uk/blog/files/a9f336cb9bb8f6bcc3836a8f8d64bbc9-6.html
  11. Suspicion and Forever In My Heart would probably be in my top ten. It would be hard to find 100 Motown as good as 100 from the best of the rest. There are some brilliant records from the Motown stable but the rest some of the stuff is off the scale by comparison. Ric Tic, Wingate, Golden World etc aren't Motown either. They were competition run by rival label owners. Gordy simply bought them to put them out of business and cream off the talent he wanted. Who knows how great those label could have been if it wasn't for Gordy's dirty tricks.
  12. I also think some of those sold in recent time (Jackie Day) are the ones previously sold. Still a rare record, not that many turned up compared to Clara Hardy, Four Tracks etc.
  13. Didn't JM auction one for about 500? I've seen a few go for 250 plus in recent times.
  14. It was probably only really known to collectors as it hadn't had much turntable action at all until recently. Had brief spins in the mid 80's with Keb. I started playing it about two or three years ago, still do now and again.
  15. Not from that find though as far as I am aware. John did tell me how many JD's there was and how they were divided, it was less than 25 if memory serves me correct.
  16. There wasn't boxes of Jackie Day, there wasn't even one 25 count box if memory serves me right. You shouldn't believe all the rumours.

Will listen to any sensible offer for what is left.
  18. https://collectorsfrenzy.com/search?q=betty+lloyd&search-button= Plenty of instances in the above link going back 4 years of the disc selling for over $400 and even $500 plus. The test press on popsike fetched nearly $1000. This scene doesn't live in the real world. The fact is that no one does any homework and can see a seller has quantity on a 45, Jesse Davis one example. Clara Hardy another recent example. They just jump right in, more money than sense in some cases some might say. The price might drops when people realise but once the stock dries up the price rises again....ala Betty Lloyd.
  19. Re Betty Lloyd, apart from the one that was f*cked, popsike shows the previous 4 between 404 and 496 dollars. Obviously more than one person willing to pay more than it is actually worth

Does Bonio carry any clout with the kids of today? He doesn't with Ellie or any of her mates and I would imagine it would be the same for most generations unless you like U2??
  21. Also called a storage warp.
  22. Chesterfield was where I lived then Russell so the Winding Wheel was my local nighter. And yes a wonky church, The Crooked Spire.
