  1. There was a great topic on here btw some time ago cheap as chips with some great recommendations.
  2. All I can say is you aren't looking hard enough. Loads of quality in the 10/20 quid range. You won't find them if you don't look, you need to get looking through boxes and listen, or visit websites that dealers have and listen to clips. If you go to nighters/soul nights those that are selling often have offers of 3 for 20 etc.
  3. Can't believe only 50 odd views? For those that do enjoy seeing those that made the music here's more Bunny Sigler with his first song of the night "Let The Good Time Roll".
  4. Yep can't disagree with any of what Jock says.
  5. Load of rubbish about the not very good is what i think. There are some fabulous cheapies out there. The reason they are cheap is because there are quantity of the titles in the hands of dealers and in circulation.
  6. This made me smile on his listing.... ♚ << look for the MAINLY45s unique sign of quality.
  7. How did we get on to a discussion about money laundering or shouldn't I have asked?
  8. That doesn't determine the records worth though does it? If there is demand behind the record or it is a record that holds its price then you'd be a fool to sell it to a dealer. A dealer will pay quite a bit less than its worth to cover his over heads, the fact he may not sell it and he will want a profit on the record, he won't get that paying the records worth. The dealer will resell the record at probably the price you paid for it in the first place, maybe more if demand has risen. The only way jot will be listed for less is if quantity has been found then it will be kept quiet.
  9. Bargain, been fetching twice that recently.
  10. I posted it in comedy sale this morning. Dubious the wording to say the least (aka Servicemen ).
  11. If you are just going to play records why bother with a dj? Might as well stick a cd on.
  12. Oh dear... https://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200997354337&item=200997354337&lgeo=1&vectorid=229466
  13. Maybe but you only have to look at the so called in-demand records and then you realise they simply aren't that rare, Constellations, Ruby Andrews, Ringleaders, Dottie & Millie. M could go on and one with titles but you get the drift. None of them are worth what is being paid, not in terms of rarity. As for collecting, its been a collecting scene as long as its been a dance scene.
  14. I thought Sam was at home with feet up after his op until after christmas?
  15. I was surprised by lack of sales at 100 Club when down in Novemeber. Only me and Nick Brown with a box I think, oh and John McClure. Other nighters not like that though, loads at Radcliffe and Lifeline.
  16. One man's meat another's poison etc etc....... Some that are called some of the best on the scene don't even register with me and I'm sure the same is said for my choice of DJ.
  17. The market has been falsely inflated since the influx of returnees in the 90's/00's, kids flown the nest and mortgage paid. They paid and in some cases still are paying inflated prices. If they had seen those records in the 80's etc and the quantity that was around, in some cases large quantity's they might have had second thoughts. Add to the equation everyone wanting to be a DJ that further falsely inflates the market. I don't think many records are or have been devalued, they simply finding their true value. There will be a lot of disappointed people in the future. If many had stuck to simply collecting then maybe prices wouldn't have gone as crazy as they have over the last 15/20 years.
  18. Trouble is many expensive records aren't rare just tucked away in collections, many no rarer than many of today's cheap records. Many of today's indemand expensive records were around in quantity in the 80's and when these hit the market when those who returned bought big the market for them will be on it's arse.
  19. The fact someone was prepared to pay so much for a boot. Not having a dig at your mate, he described it as a UK reissue, aka boot, no presumption about it. I still don't like the word reissue as it can still be misleading if you aren't in the know. Non original would be better seeing as bootleg isn't allowed.
  20. Sold quite a bit of cheap stuff lately. Some remained unsold. Some went from lists that were few months old and the records found when the buyer did a search and came across my old lists. Nighters are a waste of time or fast becoming that way for buying or rather selling. Most do their buying from their arm chair these days.
  21. And "For Crying Out Loud" I've more to upload at the weekend.
  22. If you didnt get the chance to see Bunny at the weekend, or wish to see it again, here he is singing Follow Your Heart.
  23. Jeez.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=171182387878&item=171182387878&lgeo=1&vectorid=229466

  25. You will be lucky, although it is a boot it is very rare, only four or five done of each of the titles booted.
