Jeanette should be no more than 250/300 IMHO. Thats far too much as well for a record thats often seen for sale far more than many £50 records!!!!

It may have done Simon, the clip I posted was taken directly from an Act IV disc I've never heard an Act IV one the same as the mid town release, always assumed same as one I posted!

have seen at £400, whether it sold I dunno, listed one few months back for Andy, can't remember price but feeling it might have been £350...and that one sold.

The Embers, backing harmony slightly different if you ask me and a different member on lead (if not slightly deeper voiced on this production)....Mid Town one sounds a bit more polished. Embers___You_Can_Lump_It.mp3

They also recorded as the Embers on Act IV - You can Lump It which also came out on Midtown, different lead if memory serves me correctly
  6. Sam's about the 4th or 5th DJ to get the Parliaments (more on their way). Apart from being a f*cking great record and one of best discoveries for years, what made it even more appealing was you could only hear this when Butch was DJing. It was like years ago when you could only hear something like this on your travels, record like this keep it fresh and worth the travel. It'll soon be hammered...and will rank alongside many other great records that you get sick of hearing and can't be arsed to travel to hear let alone get up and dance to it What happened to DJ's having their own identity and sounds?
  7. Who knows he may, have but none of the major UK collectors/DJs knew the record.
  8. Its called So Much In Love. Just the label to remember
  9. One of the best I've heard for a while is the Roy Roberts Andy Dyson found. Title etc escape me right now, still recovering from weekend Steve G will fill in the missing blanks
  10. went for $1200 last year on evil bay and also same year for just over $700, check out popsike. Sure there was one for sale somewhere not so long ago but details like the price I can't remember £700 probably a decent/fair price today.
  11. Wasn't April & Blackwood, it was an A & R acetate. Keb and Rob had pretty much most of Jimmy's big stuff between them.
  12. different Moments. There were a few groups about back then called the Moments.
  13. went for too much full stop IMHO, never mind in that condition wasn't so long ago it was around £400/£450 and seen plenty of copies sold since then, both auction and through sales.
  14. forgot to add....first played by Jimmy Wensiora, again if I remember rightly.
  15. yeah April And Blackwood acetate if I remember rightly. There's a scan I think in on of Pete Lawsons mags. Sidney Barnes a few years ago confirmed it wsas the Ad-Libs.

it's had spins for years, tis good record but got sick of hearing it at one point
  17. Just re-read the first few posts, one says John found 25 but only took as many as he could get on his finger and another says 250 so which is it Urban myth? could be chinese wispers.........how often does the discovery of one record turn into one 30 count box then a 150 count box
  18. But isn't buying 60's and 70's rare soul records all about taking a risk? Its a chance you take that some more could come along at anytime of any given rare record. Then again there is also the chance some won't If I wanted a record bad enough and had the money I'd take that risk and if some more copies were discovered then it's tough sh*t. Besides why leave behind a box of what was and still is a damn rare record, doesn't make sense
  19. they are both real aren't they Ian? If memory serves me the re-issue has some figure or summat on the right and licensed from or words to that effect round the edge on the right.
  20. yes she did do them herself. So technically a re-issue.
  21. Hi Simon, it was known about before then, John Vincent told me he offered it to Richard Searling at Wigan and Richard said it was too good for the Northern crowd and gave it back It then finished up with Butch. Can't remember if I went to Lincoln Drill Hall or not Did one niter in Lincoln around then although it could have been bit later Nu-Rons has been known about a few years but hardly played, I can't even remember how different it is it's that long since I heard it.

The Dynamics on Douglas is a different group to the RCA Dynamics.
  23. If only you'd said earlier, you could have saved two pages of going round in circles
  24. cheers chaps, did have the FF years ago and sold it for £75 mid 90's. Seen a copy what I thought cheapish and just wondering todays value. Might take a chance on the David Ruffin too as that was only 6 quid. If they are still there
