Lifeline Rare and Northern Soul Weekender 2008 details After two successful weekenders Lifeline is returning to the Ye Old Bell in 2008 for the third (this will also be Lifelines 4th Anniversary). The weekender will be held on the 1st, 2nd & 3rd of February 2008. The line up will again feature some of the world’s premier Soul DJ’s. As well as the usual Lifeline residents, Butch, Andy Dyson, Mick H, Chalky, Cliff Steele and Soul Sam, guests including Dean Anderson, Kitch, Steve Guanori, Tim Brown, Arthur Fenn & Andy Whitmore and others to be confirmed, will be spinning the finest soul from the 60’s and 70’s with maybe the odd 80’s and funk flavoured discs also getting an airing. If you’re lucky enough to have a room in the Hotel (this is now sold out) the cost remains the same as last year £110, still a bargain in our opinions to spend a weekend listening to the finest soul spinners spinning the finest soul on vinyl (or styrene) in the world! Balances are now due so get your monies in or you could lose your room if we don’t hear from you. Any problems get in touch!!! For those who are unfortunately not in the Hotel venue further accommodation can be found in Retford. Weekender passes will be available t the price they have been for the last two years of £35. This entitles you to all the music sessions which start at 12 noon both days and run right through until 6am on the Saturday and Sunday mornings. There is also a Sunday afternoon session to finish off the weekend. The afternoon sessions on the Friday and Saturday have in the past been thrown open to anyone who wishes to do a set. The same will happen again in February so anyone who wishes to play a few tunes to an appreciative audience get in touch with myself or Andy. most lifted from Ebay and maybe he just assumed it was black as that is how it looks on the scan/photo. Would be interesting to see the original source and how they described it.

If you look at popsike there are two sales of Love Is A Trap using the same photo, both got the same carpet or whatever that you can see though the centre hole. One from Feb 2006 and one June 2006.

Looking at popsike, the scan on the left of the three is on there twice unless the same seller using old scan or just taking photo in same spot for second sale.

Karen's mate will be the best person you can ask. Your local hospital's childrens ward can never get enough toys and games. There are kids in there all ages, baby's to teenagers (big babys ). If you buy the toys the kids will benifit from ALL the money you raise!!!!

I wouldm say it's had a steady price of around £75 for good few years, sold mine for something like that back in the mid 90's. Anything less the buyer dropped lucky IMHO. Demands for this has been rising just lately and rightly so, taken a long time to have it's day.

Not seen one for a while, must admit not one I keep an eye out for but it's listed in JM's guide at £75. Can find two that have gone through e-bay this year at £35 and £49, both UK Action. One US Peacock from couple years ago at £30.

Can I suggest if it's anything to do with kids, buy the goods yourself and present them. I've done this twice now and the sister or whatever in charge of the childrens ward said if you give the money to the hospital the kids will see little if any of it, administration and other needs take care of much of what you donate. I asked the childrens ward what they wanted and I then went out ands bought stacks of toys and games for all ages, they were well chuffed as they wouldn't have got hardly anything just handing the money over.

The Intros always been a tough little bugger to track down. Used to play this out years and years ago and always got asked to sell it...in the end I did If I see one Mark i'll give you a shout.

It's unreleased but something to do with the GWP label as the instrumental and another track by Milton are on the Kent CD covering the label and the vocal is on the Larry Banks related cd just released by Kent. It's fantastic northern, as good as anything discovered in years IMHO.

Pretty good Pete, recommend it. Based on a true story too. Good performance I thought from both Denzil Washington and Russel Crowe. I've had it about a month but only just got round to watching it. Perfect copy from a lad at work, he gets them all well before release.

The Parliaments we are talking ab out is This Is My Rainy Day. I listed Cry No More few months ago on here on one of Andy Dysons lists I did. Along with Third Soul Trio on the same label.
