Northern/rare Soul Monsters
Echo Joans comment..the Masqueraders is awesome. His Jerri Taylor "Its Beautiful" cover up is superb too, dunno where he keeps finding them.

probably right Pete but personally I don't enjoy the particular record. And what would be the point of a forum if no discussion, analysis etc of events, records took place I take it you include yourself in the "applies to everyone" comment

spot op...far better 60's and 70's records for £10, £20, £30 etc that are proper soul IMO that should be played before over hyped over played crap like NW (IMO of course ). There are too many DJ's who resort to playing popular and talked about records  they should have the balls to play some of the tenner, twenty or 30 quidders that are unfortunalety over looked in favour of crap like NW NW is a boring record and pretty forgetful, one of those that you soon tire of IMO.

Northern/rare Soul Monsters
So it's soulful house now and no longer disco whether you like Sam or not, at least he has the balls to play newer and lesser known stuff unlike many of the flock . I don't particularly like the said record but there are many, on the northern and modern scenes who don't frown upon the record, you can't argue with a full floor...so called name or not!

Northern/rare Soul Monsters
the scene must be in a sorry state when a Finnish funk record and a house record are the best the scene can come up with right now. 100's of records out there that aren't played that should be played before records like these should grace the decks IMO

Private Pressings
yeah Elijah Cole

Private Pressings
I'd call the original the very first press/run, regardless of how many and what use they were for. In the case of Elijah Cole, he has a gripe because the 1st 300 he no longer has any control over them or the price. He admits he pressed them then calls his own work bootlegs...does that make him the bootlegger How can a second press/run, done many years later, obviously to cash in on the records popularity on the soul scene be the original?
-
Private Pressings
which ever way you look at it, whatever the reason for the press....demo, private press, commercial use whatever, the original first 300 of the Mixed Emotions and the FH are surely the original press are they not. the label could be owned by the artist

Mixed Emotions - Gold Of My Life
personally I wouldn't call it crossover, just a 70's soulful dancer but thats another arguement/topic

Mixed Emotions - Gold Of My Life

Walter & The Admerations On Ebay
if it was mint it would be £5k plus IMO, still think it will fetch $2500 or there abouts.
-
Expensive To Cheap
got to agree with you Ted about being over rated. If it wasn't so rare it wouldn't get a mention, same as many big money records IMHO.
-
Walter & The Admerations On Ebay
Yeah I bet you wouldn't Still less than ten copy record and hardly ever comes up for sale so think this will go for big bucks, too many with more money than sense.

Soul Sam Spin
- Soul Sam Spin
Sure Dave Welding either said he'd had a copy or seen it. Anyway he sort of confirmed it existed (verbally mind) when I asked him at the Orwell, maybe Louise can help out here, know Dave's shy when it comes to PC's.- Soul Sam Spin
I think both sides are fab but now tired of hearing it. As good as it is and as rare as it is it's been hammered.- Soul Sam Spin
That'll be one of the disco records played Saturday night then Was told Butch had the first copy and sold it abroad? It's on another label too- Delegates of Soul on Uplook
Remember BDR being played midish 80's. Certainly late 80's by Mark Bicknell. Got it on tape from that period somewhere.- Nicole Willis - If This Aint Love
been played at nighters for a while, one of those you'll soon get bored with records IMO- Bobby Bennett
One of the best beat ballads ever, awesome record. My mate has (or had) the original Bell Sound studio disc for sale.- Delegates of Soul on Uplook
I might put it in the playbox just for you - Soul Sam Spin
