Mid Tempo
No disrespect to the Greatstone and other venues who do a similiar thing but your event clearly not aimed at the dance floor, which ain't a bad thing. You cannot get away with midtempo all-night or even a large majority at a nighter, they still want dancers and uptempo. Best of the lot.....Tommy Ridgely - My Love Gets Stronger closely followed by Eddie Whitehead - Just Your Fool

totally, even before e-bay, well before everyone cottoned on Collecting is far to easy now. You don't have to leave your arm chair  No one looks for the bargains, underplayed, forgotten, unkonwns or semi knowns, they just ask on here for cheap recomendations most auctions now have sound clips...everything is catered for- Cashing In
Trouble is that those who are selling and aren't clued up on the prices use the books to price accordingly. Infact I would go as far as to say that many who are clued up also use the guides when pricing, even if it's only to double check their own price. Even e-bay sellers quote John's book price in an effort to sell.- Cashing In

I hae to disagree to a certain extent with e-bay as there is no continuity with prices. You can put one record up and it woun't get a bid or litle demand. Someone else can put same recorsd up and price will go crazy. For example Ruby Andrews sold various times over the last 18 months on e-bay for between $100 and $405 Doug Banks another, put one up not a bid. Following week one went up and went for over £100. Looking at it's history in recent times price has varied between $78 and $276 I still use the lists and boxes at venues for the real indication of a value, and the dealers I trust- 1,2,3,original ?
I would assume the 1965 is there to indicate the year it was first published If I remember rightly I've seen re-issued british stuff before with original date on rather than the date re-issued- Influences
Steve does live near me, his wife and he have a nursery (plants) near me and sell the stock on Chesterfield market...or did. Very rare I get into town now so don't see him. I'll ask me mother, he always asked her how is Chalky Sean Hamsey gotta agree with Steve, fantastic taste in music, he has also moved to Chesterfield now Must call him up As for my influences? so many. Rob Wigley and Andy Tats Taylor two early influences on me. But there were so many in the 80's who had an influence either with there promotions, djing or just being mates and being there.- Lets Get The Cheapies Thread Going Again
Stu Gardner - Expressin My Love - Chisa (great flip too but have to open the box to remember the title ) JJ Daniels - Mr Lonesome - Sureshot Big Frank Murphy - It's All Over But The Pain - Philips Jean Wells -With My Love And What You Got - Calla (one of best Northern records ever!!) Lew Kirton - Come On With It - Marlin (superb 70's) Tony Owens - When Your Wrong You Got To Pay The Price - Listening Post (again superb 70's) Chimes - Beginning Of My Life - Down To Earth Nick Allen - Hard Way To Go - Walas Neil Brown - If By Chance - Chart Sound- Why Is It Rare To See Dj's Dance?
if they never get a set anywhere, then technically they don't dj so technically they aren't dj's personally wouldn't employ a dj who turns up for his set and buggers off after it! they should at least show a little commitment to the event IMO- Influences
Heard Neil at Wilton couple of years ago (sure it was him ) and he played a great set- Anyone Know These?
Nope.....now shall I tell you or let you do your nut in a bit more Ok I'll tell you...Soul Power- Anyone Know These?

Played the Marva Whitney a couple of times over Christmas.- Little Ann What Should I Do
the flip of Gilly's has for about 20 seconds an instrumental version which suddenly stops, obviously doing a sound check or summat. It then kicks off again slightly faster for the full length of the song, just instrumental with bit of female backing and towards the end Little Ann comes in singoing "when he's not around what shall I do" repeating several times. Not sure but think Gilly's differs slightly to the cd. any chance of the tambourine cut posted? - Dynamics On Dyna
