  1. Dave Rimmer playing Modern It's a good attempt to sound 60's, if that was the intention but can easily tell it ain't.

Last Al Williams I saw sold was on JM auction and went for £2,316.00 for a LaBeat white demo (rarest IMO). There was a LA Beat issue sometime before which went for a little more if memory serves me correctly, summat like £2600 Palmer (second issue ) not as rare as LaBeat IMO.
  5. the last two I can find auctioned were one last year demo & P/S $87 and a demo January this year for $105. Certainly wouldn't get them that cheap on a list. If demos are now £75 I would have thought at least a ton for the issue.

Think the little richard had the odd play now and then
  10. only got a shitty RA to hand, got it on cd, but on this file it sounds like near the end, "sweat was popping (or dripping) off my face and shit was all over the place" must get my lug 'oles cleaned
  11. not sure about the stand in line but certainly sounds like fish and chips after
  12. Eddie & Ernie - Lost Friends James Carr - singles collection Goldwax story all on Kent
  13. Calvin Grayson - Loves Just begun two bits sound like "feelin shitty your woman quit you" and bit later when "times get hard" then backing comes in "piss off you"
  14. thought I had this somewhere on cd/tape...can't seem to find, soundfile anyone, both sides if poss
  15. Just added that cd to my wants Colin, surprised I've not got that one already
  16. here you go, superb track
  17. which is less than two weeks away
  18. aye can remember you playing it, tis good
  19. Dunoo who the musicians were but Goldwax used most of the studios in Memphis according to sleeve notes on the Goldwax story, Hi, Sam Philips, American and Lyn-Lou, also Fame. Presume they were any Memphis musician available to the particular studio at the time. Dark End Of the Street one of my fave soul singles and one of the greatest ever IMO, up there with Sam Cook's A Change Is Gonna Come.

  21. manship has one for £75
  22. I'll rephrase that to agree with what Richie says, trickle them out rather than sit on it. Not going to go up in value so why sit on 'em
  23. or so he says........with the one on e-bay I've seen 5 copies... it's the sort of record gonna have to cash in on while it's still hot so to speak. If you ask me it will only go down in value if it turns up cause it's basically a pretty poor record and does get very boring after a while. The other side is f*cking awful and that is the top side
  24. Humpty Dumpty, makes no reference to him nor any nursery rhyme. Will have a good listen after me tea but basically says summat along the lines of "game I'd be losing" .....summat I can't make out while eating me tea but mentions dump .not humpty dumpty though then says "Heading for a fall". As for like Lewis Clark sounds sod all like it IMHO...ones half decent record for a start others basically shite but sounds good played loud and is very catchy And who ever compared it to the Vondells wants to get their ears cleaned out I got the second copy, Brian Poust advertised the copy on here and the one Manship auctioned wasn't a new copy. There's one on e-bay now.
