  1. If I Could Be Like Columbus Where Would We Be??????
  2. I didn't thiunk it was that rare in the first place. Seen for as much as £150 which I always though OTT.
  3. Luther's "Don't Wanna Be Your Fool" is one of my fave 70's tracks.
  4. I've only a coup[le I think left to listen to :o Any news on the missing swappers Mark and Miss Goldie?????
  5. Listened to a couple more today. First off Mark Baildon's Charlie McCoy & Escorts - My Baby's Back Again - Monument. One I've had on tape for years and always good to hear this again. Charlie pleased because as the title suggests his Baby's Come Back. Soulful and then some. Four Counts - A Home In Loveland - Lyndel Mid tempo mover and great group harmony....love this kind of stuff Cynthia & Imaginary Three - Thats What I Am - Big Hit Always rated this. Can remember getting this for the first time on tape in the 80's from Tony Parker. Presume this is the same group as the one on Blue Rock. Next was Jocks and like Marks difficult to pick a final three such was the quality Mel Heuston - Searching - Cez Vista For some reason it reminds me of the Fantastic Four don't ask why Perfect mid-tempo Patti Ward - (Girls) You Have To Wait For Love - Road Brilliant. Known this many years but totally forgot all about it. Fantastic Four - I Feel Like I'm Falling In Love - Soul Have "Sweet" James Epps and trhe boys done a bad record? I don't think so and a group I could listen too all day
  6. Listening to the Funk Bros now Mike , seems ok.
  7. Like you say Mark Bill Bush was £150 few years ago and with the amount of copies about now should be, in theory cheaper and available to many more collectors as it is far more common these days...in theory! As with many aspects of this collecting scene demand is pushing the price sky high for items that really don't warrant such prices. Bill Bush and the Cashmeres prime examples, both often fetching a four figure amount ($) :o Bobby Kline, Johnnie MAe Matthews, Tangeers are other recent examples as is the Hyperions, was watching two copies on the same e-bay page (highest priced) earlier in the week, one went for over a $1000 dollars for a record that shouldn't be anymore than £400 IMO, probably less with the number of copies around. Again demand pushing up the price. Doubt very much I would go out and buy these records if I had the money. To me, as good as they may or may not be, they have had their day and time they had a rest, have been hearing them for 15 years and more now. Would much sooner find a semi-known or unknown, whatever the price, preferably cheap, than buy over priced indemand records. Like I said if records were priced by it's availability and rarity then more of these records would be available to the average collector. Each to their own though
  8. Must say it does sound good when played over large system.
  9. Funny thing is this is big for the second time. Was massive for Gary Spencer late 80's early 90's covered as Billy Lennox - Baby I'm Lost Without You
  10. It was a regular listing before Bill Bush's copies. Either folk have to much money and little sense or they just don't do their homework IMO.
  11. COD's - She's Fire - Kellmac Now that is fast

I'm sick of hearing the over-rated t**t One of his tracks has been record of the week on radio 2 and it's shite Can't believe he's being talked about on a forum called All about the soul
  15. I would be very very surprised if it is Carlena and if it is a legit one, wouldn't be that hard to knock a fake scan up. I don't know one single colector who has seen this at all. I might have to go into town tomorrow to see if the cd is there to have a look.
  16. Funny you should say that One of the band members has/had a copy and he either saw the e-bay listing or was informed of it and promptly put his up for sale at £3000...sure it's been sold. He contacted a few people over here about it.
  17. It maybe in the Wand listing but no one has ever seen one.
  18. Two known copies of Margaret Little, makes it twice as rare as Frank Wilson Prophets and Moments handful only and considering rarity not a bad price IMO. Tommy Ridgely fair pric, personally rate it £1500. James Lately another rare piece and fair price IMO. Forston & Scott way overpriced IMO, not $5000 rae, turned one of these down for about £100 mid 90's and they were kicking about then. Just Brothers not often seen for sale neither is Tina Roberts. Only seen couple or so Tina Roberts since I turned one down from Pete Lawson for £60 in favour of two other records at Bradford Queens Hall Two Plus Two rare rare piece, handful only. The buyer doesn't pay that sort of money for something that is common. Been known about amongst collectors but virtually unknown to the dancefloors.
  19. Thought this got played at every soul night
  20. Thanks for the comments Jock and glad you enjoyed the CD. As for Syng McGowan...it will be coming to a place near you soon...Edinburg in December
  21. It all brings a smile to my face cause you just can't beat soul music. It's the first thing I hear in the morning, well after the alarm that is and the last thing I hear at night
  22. Rock Candy "Alone" is the Contemplations. Rock Candy recorded the other side and had nothing to put on the flip so they stuck the Contemplations on there and changed their name to Rock Candy.

I'm not right just stating my opinion. Would prefer to go out every week and hear different DJ's playiing different records and like I originally said wouldn't want a good record like the Sensations getting ruined by over exposure (IMHO).
  24. Not that I'd ever want this to happen but if it did hypothetically it would be Tommy Ridgely - My Love Gets Stronger - International City.
