Help Please - Vinyl Scratches
Over the years, people have found many ways of neglecting Vinyl. If it has spent time witout a cover, which is one of the more common things to happen you can help by carefully cleaning the Vinyl obviously making sure the Label doesn't get wet. If it is a U.K. PRESS sometimes a visually scratched record plays extremely well considering. U.S.A. copies to a similar possibly slighly lesser degree if they are Vinyl. I have some U.K. records that look terrible but sound almost perfect. If it is a U.S.A. Styrene and has suffered Needle Burn it may look O.K. but play Terrible, Nothing can be done to Improve a record that has Needle Burn as far as I am aware. Cleaning is Always worth a try, it may not be the scratch, but dirt that is the problem. Mild Soap & Water, I have used the Antibacterial Wipes, & In extreme cases basic Toothpaste which is of course a Mild Abrasive. Always washed thoroughly afterwards. The Toothpaste can dull the records shine if over used. A clean soft toothbrush also Invaluable and cheap to buy. Try cleaning a record of no value first though. The things that some people have Inflicted on Vinyl records are far worse than gently trying to clean it. Fortunately I have only had to clean a handful of records in this way, mainly, Junk Shop/Car Boot casualties. The Antibacterial Wipe, then Soap & Water usually does the trick on a Dirty Record.

Is This A Real One
Certainly were, I remember my first trip to Kings Lynn, Travelled through the night to be there early. I was like a Kid in a Sweet Shop, all that lovely Original Vinyl, multiple copies too. I went a few times, but that first time I was in Awe, I'll remember it forever, Happy Days.
-
Is This A Real One
Yes, as Ted correctly states, Originals do have the "Nashville Matrix" both sides.
-
Tami Lynn
Do we know which Version was written / Recorded first. This Version has an "early" feel to it somehow. Don't get me wrong I like it, Just has a very early 60's sound/style to it, which makes me wonder if it was first but unreleased until the French E.P.

Is This A Real One
That's correct, I have the Label Variation with no credit to "Mike Terry" on the Label, I will check the Matrix and Post.

Whether it's the real deal or Counterfeit, it's Strange we haven't seen any others about. Someone lost out if it was made to deceive, and where are the other copies? The Font is a little difficult to compare, However. The Blue Stars Constellation is Upper and Lower case. The Blue Upper case. The Yellow ones are Upper Case on the Dee Clark too. The Type of Font & the different B Side. Certainly a one off at the moment, if nothing else.

Help
Here's a >>> LINK <<< to a recent Rita Dacosta thread. That Frankford / Wayne bit Intrigues me. I must go to check the Deadwax of the Originals, I know that SELECT SOUND is there. There is another BOOT which I don't have available to compare.

Help
This is the Monarch Stamp that you are looking for. It should be followed by a Delta & a Number. Obviously any stamp is helpful, if it has a Monarch Stamp the date of press is extremely Accurate. Sometimes the Monarch Stamp isn't very well definined and you are looking for a circle with a hint of the MR visible. On the Rita Dacosta you would be looking for "SELECT SOUND" on an Original.

Hi Mark Never seen it on a Yellow Label. I have seen Dee Clark on the Different Variations. The Stars, Constelation Variation was the only other as far as I knew for Nolan Chance. You can never say never in this game though, Looking forward to the scan & Matrix Details.

Thanks Mate. Either way A nice record to have in the collection, However, I think that the stars Label Variation looks so much better. Anyone seen a DEMO with the Stars Variation.

Ike Turner
I must say that I in no way condone what he is alleged to have done. Problem Is that there are other artists believed to have a similar trait, but may be closer to peoples hearts. Where do you draw the line. Together they made Brilliant music, and helped to shape our Soul Scene. I do have their records in my collection and enjoy listening to them. I felt that I had to comment on an such an amazing recording career as Ike & Tina Turner. Anything else beyond that would be unfair for me to comment on.

Help Needed With Originallity
I have The Carstairs and It is "STERLING" Stamped. As Already stated by Simon & Nidge. In many ways more straight forward to check. ------------------------------------------------- The Anderson Brothers is a lot more difficult to determine unless you listen to It. I don't own a copy of The Anderson Brothers, However; According to Manships Bootleg Guide It was counterfeited 3 Times, the Original is on Vinyl. I May be wrong but this one on ebay looks like Styrene from the Scan, which would rule Its chances out. >>> https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/anderson-brothers-i-...1QQcmdZViewItem <<< Normally You can usually pick out a Styrene record, If the scan Isn't poor quality.
