  3. The flipside of The Cinderellas is an awesome beat ballad "Please Don't Wake Me" - written by Russ Titelman. Same guy as The Cookies "I Never Dreamed", Lesley Gore "A Girl In Love", Glen Campbell "Guess I'm Dumb" etc etc [actually, a quick google and it looks like The Cinderellas WERE The Cookies - think I maybe knew that, and then forgot it - DOH!]
  4. Or Pearl DOWDELL depending on which side of the label you look at. On Saadia, both sides are great - "Good Thing" up-tempo funky soul b/w "It's All Over" mid-tempo crossover (very similar to "I Can't Wait Until I See My Baby's Face"). Think there's a male version of "It's All Over" too isn't there? Little Beaver or Frank Williams... 15. DYNAMIC TINTS "Falling In Love" b/w "Be My Lady" (Twinight 145) VG+ £25 inc. P&P "Be My Lady" was released twice, with the superb crossover group sound "Falling In Love" only on this far rarer release. This copy has a few scuffs and light label wear, but plays great and fine for DJing - $100 on Moerer's site. Paypal preferred. PM if interested.
  16. >With this record I'm using an amplified version of the GOLDMINE grading system. In the most marketable grades of FAIR to NEAR MINT, I'm adding a numerical scale of .1 through .9 after the grade (e.g. VG.7 or NM.5), with .9 putting the record closest to the next grade. What an utterly insane grading system - adding a scale of 1 to 9 after basic gradings. What the hell is NM.5? Half way between yer basic near mint (NM.1) and totally and utterly mint (NM.10) aka M. I mean M.10. Or is that M.0? May the best man win! Or woman...
  17. Anyone???
  18. WENDY LYNN on King Missed this in sales - anyone got a spre to sell? TA!
  19. Me too if you've got a few! TA!
  20. Well, that's not exactly true - popsike is a pretty random selection, it's far from exhaustive. Plus, it only lists high prices, so all the records which have slipped through the net for a few bucks won't be on there either...
  21. Eh? But styrene doesn't join - it's injection moulded plastic - the "join" is round the outer flat edge of the disc, that's where you'd get a line when the two parts of the mould come apart. Not that I'm an expert on record pressing or anything. If the record has an almost imperceptible line, then surely it's a hairline crack. But I agree, nearly all of them have it (since they're so fragile) and it makes no difference to the sound or quality. It's just a tiny wee line...
  22. Suppose it all depends how you define a stress crack. Plenty of styrene records have what looks like an almost invisible "scratch" which doesn't sound at all - you think it's a hairline scuff until you flip it and see the exact same hairline scuff on the other side. It's not REALLY a scratch and doesn't sound at all. Is it a minute scuff or a HAIRLINE CRACK? Guess it depends if you're selling or buying...
  23. This is something that's always puzzled me... how can someone assume they have the only known copy of a record? Does it involve asking every collector you know, and even then reckoning that there aren't other collectors out there who might have it? Not having a pop, just genuinely curious what the parameters of "one known copy" are... especially now that this "only known copy" seems to be up to five now...
  24. Looking for: MARIA DALLAS "Ambush" on RCA. PM if you can help - many thanks in advance! NOW SORTED - THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!
  25. Got the original UK 45 on the Philly International label if anyone's interested... M- £25 in company bag.
