MD Records - Two Upcoming 45 Releases - Video Interview
It was Shifty I heard first play this at 100 Club in the 90's. He moved his (battered copy) on to Mich H as part of a larger deal. I had a CD of it that we had recorded at a friends house at a pre 100 Club session where Shifty had it covered and played it for us. Mick wasn't playing it out, I always requested it, but it never got played unfortunately. I also regularly offered to buy it. Years later (around 2006/7) I cut an acetate from the CD and used to play it out regularly at DDA, Soul or Nothing, Rugby and other venues. I had no idea who it was by and played it as Deep South by Deep South. It's on my Mixcloud from back then. Just as Shifty had done, I played it at a considerable minus speed. When Dave Thorley turned up a 'real' one quite a while ago and told me who it was by, I stopped playing mine out (still have it) Brilliant detective work getting this out on a release where the artist get paid. Well done to all.

New short Documentary: 'Once Upon a Time in Wigan'
Yes, we must Dave. Though, I only started in 76. But I did know and travel with Jean and Liz a fair bit and went to all the venues you mention except Kettering. My cousin Anthony (ratty) Price had just dropped out when I started going and maybe he was more your time. Nice one grabbing a poster, I lost them during my many moves. Have one somewhere I think.

New short Documentary: 'Once Upon a Time in Wigan'
'Once Upon A Time In Wigan': short documentary (the original production of the play 2002-2005) “Drama lovers can admire the soul of Paul Sadot’s sharply observed production” Alfred Hickling - Guardian 2003 Many people have confused the legendary original production by Paul Sadot and Urban Expansions (Manchester) with productions of the same title that followed, but there was only one sell-out, award nominated, version. This short documentary captures the Director/Choreographer/Producer personal account of the development of the Urban Expansions Production of ‘Once Upon A Time In Wigan’. It was originally commissioned by Paul Sadot’s company Urban Expansions Limited and CONTACT Theatre Manchester and first produced, choreographed and staged in 2002-2005 by Paul Sadot (written by Mick Martin). Following the end of the 2005 tour of the play, Paul moved on to other performance projects. The play underwent minor re-writes, and sometimes major transformations, under various directors and still continues to be staged. All copyright to the footage used in this film is owned by Paul Sadot and documents his personal work staging, choreographing and directing the play. No dialogue from the play is included. 'Santa's Watching You' - Sacred Four Cover
Thoughts on this cover of the incredible Sacred Four's - Somebody's Watching You? Is Santa watching me? If so, I find it quite dystopian and it could really scare both children and adults....
