Westhoughton Cricket Club
Just reminising the other night and Westhoughton Cricket club was mentioned and we all agreed about the great nights we had there. I think it was run by Paul Johnson (please correct me if I'm wrong) and was more of a connoisseurs/collectors venue with djs trying new sounds out with no dance floor pressure. I think the nights ran in the early 90s round about the time slower tempo stuff was coming into its own. I remember hearing Jimmy Bo Horne for the first time here covered as Little Beaver? "Just cant Sleep". I always came away with records I wanted (why didn't I buy that Chuck Cockerham @ £150??) which always adds to the good memories. I Remember Butch leaning on his sales box chatting and never opened it happy days. Please fill in the gaps as the my memory aint what it use to be. Blake

Arthur Adams 45
Can any of you knowledgable people tell me if Arthur Adams excellent "Cant wait to see you" on Chisa is the same song as his "I cant wait to see you tonight" on Ta San? Local/first release or two totally different songs with similar titles? Thanks Blake

So What Makes A Good Dj
Dead Right Stevie, look how the promoters/dealers sucked up to Steve Chadwick cause he had pots of (someone else') cash. He hadn't a clue about DJing but hey he had lots of cash. BH

Record Prices
But on the plus side of this is that the pound is worth nearly $2 so buying from the US is great at the moment. Check out some of the prices on Gemm that are in $ and may have been set awhile. The pound is predicted to reach $2 sooner rather than later (BBC source). BH PS, but not so good for our American friends
