  1. Nice one , nice find. The one on the left was the one I`m talking about. It really looked like it was part of the white shirt rather than a sewn on badge. The one on the right is much older. Goes back a long time.
  2. KEN (as always) right on the button- Leeds in the sixties (the REAL Leeds United imo) had what looked like an owl on their shirt badges. And they were then nicknamed "The Peacocks"
  3. Got a few from Cleethorpes (Pier) in the seventies. Gotta put em onto CD fast. Or brand new cassettes. They`re starting to deteriorate.
  4. Only three in a row?. And can the owls please come out to play this time..This time in OUR half occasionally. Possession`s not just something that happened in THE EXORCIST, you know.
  5. Ken? Ken? KEN! Are you there? I think we spoke about this here
  6. Yes- I know it. It`s by the HANK LEVINE ORCHESTRA (No relation to Ian.) It`s on BRITISH HMV. It was issued twice. 1961 and 1965. Modernist instrumental. Image (Pts 1& 2) Ken? Didn`t we discuss this sound some time ago?
  7. I fully agree. For the home team. We couldn`t play worse up front than Saturday`s fiasco against Brighton. Should be an interesting game. However, it would be more interesting to hear "Out On The Floor" sung by EDDIE Gray though.
  8. Yeah, very nice..Right up my street. Thanks for that link!
  9. Dunno how much it is now, but one of my favourite cheapies is: GLORIA PARKER-HELLO BABY GOODBYE TOO-LLP I paid three quid for it, and not that long ago either. Anyone else know it?
  10. Yup- And they HAVE been in my collection for years. Thanks for that,Mark!

and so say all of us....
  12. I used to buy soul packs in Rotherham in the seventies. just down the road from Strads opposite the tailors.-- £5 for 10..Got some goodies like Jack Montgomery-Don`t Turn Your Back On Me-Barracuda and Emanons Orchestra- Bird Walkin`-All Brothers to name a few, but (imo) the majority of the sounds in the soul packs were not so good. But for 50p each you can`t really grumble I suppose.
  13. Try THIS - Bob Brady & The Con Chords - Everybody`s Going To The Love In/ More,More More of Your Love/Goodbye Baby/Illusion/Love Is The Master/ Savin` All My Love For You....Chariot = William "Smokey" Robinson (under contract with TAMLA) (the vocal sounds NOTHING like the OTHER Bob Brady, the name is sheer coincidence-Mr Robinson had no idea that there was ANOTHER Bob Brady!)

Course you know who I am!
  16. What about the WHITE & BLACK (fake demo) bootleg? The blue one isn`t a bootleg-it`s a second issue. The red, white and black one (as you say) is the original!

"ONCE I STOPPED TO WATCH A TREE GROW" Cajun Hart- "Got To Find A Way"-WARNER BROS RECORDS "WHEN SHE WALKS DOWN THE STREET, THE BOYS ALL GIVE A WHISTLE, THEY SEEMED TO KNOW, THAT SHE`S AGLOW-LIKE AN ATOMIC MISSLE" Rod Keith-"Gloria"-PREVIEW RECORDS (Alternative version of "Like The Lord Said"..same backing track- different lyrics.) In fact most of the lyrics on this are a bit strange to say the least.

  22. I AGREE. AWESOME,BRILLIANT DETROIT. BUT SHOULD ONLY BE PLAYED IN THE PRIVACY OF YOUR OWN HOME. SHOULD BE SAVOURED. (or at a venue with no dance floor, don`t laugh-I`ve done a spot at a venue with no dance floor.)
