  1. I told you it would be brilliant!!!!!! I really loved the weekend, as did my wife and kids and we will definitely be returning should Vintage be on again next year! I had a record stall right opposite the Soul Casino, and i must have heard most sets played from first thing Friday to last thing Sunday. I got some footfall from folks going in and out of the venue too! I also had to answer the same question many times over the weekend of 'What's this playing mate?' Good job i'm a know-it-all! Got me a few sales though LOL Soul wise the acts were superb and many of the DJ's in the Soul Casino did the business. The Soul Casino was a revelation and i think the queue to DJ in there next year from everyone and their dog will have already begun LOL Ann Sexton was sublime, worth going just for that! She was amazing and what a lovely woman too! Leroy Hutson was excellent (Hobbsy if you're reading this, you owe me a pint, as it was 1989 the last time he was here! Good luck with the interview with the great man this week too!) And just how good was Joe Bataan? Bloody brilliant he was! I'm still aching now from dancing to him for 90 minutes solid! Three acts all on the Soul Stage that i will remember for many a long year! There was tons of other stuff going on but i'll keep it to that for now! Congratulations once again to all the Goodwood team and here's to 2011 Cheers Steve Plumb www.soulmusic.co.uk
  2. mmmmmmmm Well I'm a genuine 100% Soul Dealer (a la wigan etc) and i've aready paid for the whole weekend?????? Anyhow, anyone going for the weekend, or even for just Sunday, come and check out me stall! I think i'm on 'Penny Lane' Cheers Steve
  3. Same here mate! I'm raring to go for Dab as i've had a forced Sabbatical this summer with the missus not being well Thankfully, everything is now on the mend (although it will still take many more months to be 100%) but i can get out a bit more now, starting with Vintage this weekend! Cheers Steve

  8. It's a long story BUT I've decided to do a record stall at next weeks Vintage @ Goodwood, Fashion & Music Festival. However, I find myself short on plastic record bags (You know, the ones you give folk when they buy something off you if you have a shop!) and I wondered if anyone wanted some free advertising by sending me some through to put my prospective customers' sales into? Please PM me if you can spare some? LP size will be fine but if you have 45 size, that will also be good Please let me know ASAP Cheers Steve

Here's me description from me website Four Tops - Love enough to care Fabulous new release from Levi Stubbs & the boys! Recorded in the late 70's whilst they were at Casablanca Records but laid unreleased until it got a belated CD/LP release about 10 years ago. Now making it's debut on 45 here we have a super little dancer will a great hook line and stomping beat that will surely get spins on the Northern Soul Scene? Has already had a few spins in the Modern Soul rooms over the last few years but can only go from strength to strength now it's appeared on 45! Click HERE to see, hear and buy it! It's also featured on SOUL PEOPLE on Solar Radio Sunday 25th July (tomorrow) 10am-Midday As always, there are LOADS of brilliant 45's spread ALL OVER the site! Don't think that the only new 45's are on the 'Just Arrived' page! We add 45's to ALL parts of the site ALL the time and we are constantly reviewing & tweaking prices as we strive to give the BEST value for money ANYWHERE on the internet! Spend a little time there and you never know what you'll come out with! Cheers Steve www.soulmusic.co.uk

  20. Wow! Unacustomed as I am to going over the top I've just had a package from the lovely Mr Rounce containing THREE of the tracks from his recent 'Southern' find on 'unknown' Soul vocalist, Tina Bryant. Hopefully by the time you read this, the licensing will be done and news of a release later this year will be imminent I say again, Wow! THREE tracks recently unearthed from 1971 from a TRUE unknown Soul vocalist! Listening to these tracks will leave you wondering how the hell they stayed in the can and more importantly, how the hell the singer didn't become a real star.............I kid you not! One's a very tasty 60's/Northern finger snapping mid tempo dancer One's a 'proper' Deep Soul treasure & finally One's a mellow Deep Soul ballad with sweetening so fine, it'll send shivers down your spine!!!!!! I will most definitely be playing all three tracks THIS Sunday on Solar Radio, as it's our turn to host 'Soul People' So I hope you can join us THIS Sunday at the usual time of 10am-Midday and I PROMISE you you will NOT be disappointed with the quality of this newly discovered Soul Diva! Cheers Steve
  21. This Sunday we're having a bit of a change...... Mr Maleady (should he turn up that is LOL) will be treating us to some of the music that inspired him in his love for 70's Soul & Crossover with memories of the clubs that went hand in hand with those memories.................whilst i'll be showcasing some of the new (old) tuneage that's either knocking around now OR forthcoming in the near future! Look out in particular for THREE tracks recently unearthed from 1971 from a TRUE unknown Soul vocalist! Listening to these tracks will leave you wondering how the hell they stayed in the can and more importantly, how the hell the singer didn't become a real star.............I kid you not! So hope you can join us on Sunday between the usual time of 10am-Midday! Soul People - It does exactly what it says on the tin Cheers Steve
  22. The LP looks lovely too, real retro :-) I believe the LP is ONLY coming out on Vinyl and there won't be a CD release Will be playing some tracks from the LP this Sunday on Soul People (Solar Radio 10am-Midday) Cheers Steve
