very appropriately timed, I've never found a rip of this rare LP cut until just now, and its one of my all-time favorites in any genre:

I think if you're willing to take a gamble on condition, sometimes you can get a really amazing deal on very rare records. Ebay is especially good for this on occasion, where the seller doesn't have the faintest clue about the record they're selling or how to grade them. This last year I literally had to jump through hoops to get a record from the US. The seller wouldn't ship overseas, and even though I gave her my mom's address in the US she still wouldn't send it until I changed my address officially with ebay. after all this, and months of waiting due to my mom posting it to the wrong address (luckily insured) I ended up with a VG- (wol) copy of Ann Sexton - You've Been Gone Too Long on original yellow label for a mere 99 cents (and 99 cents only since the seller offered free shipping within the US ).

I'd consider myself a hard B with a C leaning. If it plays well enough to be heard without too much crackle and hiss, and is the genuine article I'm happy as a clam. Though the occasional "rarer boot" sometimes will have to do. I guess thats where C comes in...

In no particular order/off the top of my head: The Wailers - There She Goes Alton Ellis - Ain't That Lovin' You Sir Lord Comic - Jack Of My Trade Owen Gray - Gimme Little Sign Justin Hinds & The Dominoes - Why Should I Worry?
-
Browsed here to find out more about this record and found that someone posted about being able to get copies directly through him. Does anyone know if this is still an option / have a contact for him? Or if not, does anyone know what the going rate for this record is? some very fantastic funky modern soul.
-
how would one get in contact with him to obtain one (if still possible)? would love to own this, fabulous track.

Couldn't agree more, Chalky. Huge respect to both those labels and their artists for what they're doing.

Why Do We Dislike Al Wilson's The Snake So Much?
Andreas B replied to Dave Bishop FM's topic in All About the SOUL
I didn't think I could like any version less than Al Wilson's but on first listen this was abhorrant. To each his own though... -

Andreas B replied to Dave Bishop FM's topic in All About the SOUL
Good to hear from you mate! Would love to make it up to Static but I have a dear friend from the states visiting me during that weekend (also my birthday weekend!), who happens to be heading up your way the next weekend. We were planning to have our Delegates Of Soul night that weekend but looks like we should be rescheduling, since I think most of the Scando crowd will want to be there that weekend, and rightly so. Get your buns down here for the next Backstreet on March 16th! Always a blast. And just to keep things on topic, "The Snake" is still corny garbage. -

Because its corny as all get-out? -
Po'boys are the best! Fried Catfish one will usually do me right, drenched in Crystal Louisiana-Style hot sauce. You can even go for a gator one if you're feeling adventurous
