  1. nice track....... how did your set go down? regards
  2. not the worst 3 minutes of my life..... if I had to speculate I would say Terence Trent whats his face Is it the song for the new X Factor winner?
  3. Thanks for that..... think it can go and sit back in the garage for that sort of price......... Fits in with the recent post on lower priced 45s not selling at all...
  4. Hi Peter, good lp....shame to let it go but it has not been played in forever.... snapshot of the times..... Side2 may still be a bit modern for me think I bought it at Clifton Hall..?
  5. thanks. yep the second one.... think there's also For Dancers Only in garage... looks like ebay it is...
  6. I really only buy 45s. However over the years (like most people I guess) I have ended up with lots of big dinner plates. I won't play them and before they go to landfill, are any of the following Various Artists worth selling? VWVON All Nite Long ~ early 1980s bootleg with 6Ts one side and modern ( ) the other Pye Disco Demand ~ Solid Soul Sensations ~ Ian Levine comp with Anglos, Jack Montgomery, Masqueraders etc This is Loma ~ Volumes 1-7 ~ I think that was the full set Talk of The Grapevine, Sound of The Grapevine and This Is Northern Soul ~ all 3 of the releases (I think) Capital Soul ~ Horaces Soulful Kinda Music ~ Soul Supply ~ which still has shrink seal on it and the price (£5.49 ~ Virgin records 1985!) ~ this has Contenders, Bell Boys, Phil terrell etc All are good nick, ranging from well played (Pye) to the basically brand new (Soul Supply). I know there's more in the garage......should I just leave them there?
  7. Hi Leeds based? There are many (too many?) events in just our local area to choose from. In all honesty you are spoiled for choice at the moment. Try them all.... Steve

  9. Ady, do you still want one? i have what was a NOS copy that I have not played. Cant vouch for sound obviously! Regards Steve
  10. It's like that Jackie Edwards "Come on home" which sold for £300, I was selling one at £25 and couldn't get a bite on it! there's one of those to move on as well......I think it's worth £300 now too..
  11. Blues Busters not worth much. Was a big seller, £20 tops. Or £150 if you auction it No idea about the Sue one. Gospel Classics issue £75 point me to the auction thanks Pete.
  12. cheers Pete.. thanks for the quick response. bit less than I thought but I guess you have priced to sell reasonably quick...... bit sad, but I am not fussed about ever selling anything.....however i have realised that I ain't gonna live forever and I have a nice pile of vinyl, books and bikes that will take some landfill! got a few more to ask about...
  13. hi as previous post, thinking about starting to move stuff I won't play.......cant hoard everything for ever... So what do you think to ask for the following Uk issues? Blues Busters ~ How Sweet It Is ~ Island (w/r) strong VG Olympics ~ Fireworks/Bounce ~ Sue in company bag EX Gospel Classics ~ More Love ~ Chess EX (One mans excellent is another's mint minus etc........all graded conservatively) Again, not seen any recent sales values Thoughts? Steve
  14. Hi thinking about having a bit of a general clear out.... what's your ideas for current values for the following UK issues: The Holidays ~ Makin Up Time ~ Polydor ~ strong VG but slight edge warp The Eyes of Blue ~ Heart Trouble ~ Deram ~ strong VG (poss Ex) Cherry Wainer ~ Money ~ Columbia ~ EX original company sleeve Cant really see any recent sales values. Best regards Steve
  15. top set from Phil. Missed off Martha Starr ~ Really nice venue...recommended. Parking was fun....
  16. Hi home now. Found the second copy....had a play. I would grade at minimum of vg. No centre and tiny piece of label peeled up on one of the centre supports. Nothing serious at all. It plays clean and clear no issues, minimum background noise before start of music. few small (non feelable) surface marks... I have graded quite conservatively compared to some Ex or M- 45s I have purchased recently. if you are playing out then it will be perfect for dj-ing. If I did not have a second copy, then I would probably keep it. (if that's a recommendation for condition) But the big problem for you may that the labels are reversed. The "You'll be mine" label is on "Up above my head" side and vice-versa. I knew there was a reason I had kept it as a duplicate and it was probably for the novelty sake. If you want it I will post for £20. Paypal but gift so i don't get lumbered with costs. It's your choice and I won't be offended if you want to wait for a more suitable copy. It's always been a hard record to locate (due I guess to the Rod connection) but the advent of the internet has seen a lot of demos surface. Also there is no longer an ardent Rod collecting base, so it's now valuable as a sound not a historical document. Probably cheaper in real terms now than at any time since late 1970s....IMHO Let me know either way. Seriously I won't be bothered if you don't want to buy. Another copy will turn up.... Best regards steve
  17. Hi out at moment will be back tonight. Will have a good look to check condition and will come back to you. Steve
  18. Hi how good does it have to be? I have a duplicate copy but it does not have centre.

  22. I remember Phil Dick had a copy of Ramona Collins circa 1993-94 and was playing it out
  23. I don't see an issue. The scene was built on both. Soul is invoked with the voice.....pain, happiness, love, other emotions, torture.... But Dance needs a beat...and that comes from the instrumentation. So yes instrumentals can have soul.....there's precious little acapella that makes you want to dance. More instrumentals please.
  24. nearly had me dancing.. good set Martyn
