  5. Jock, This album is well worth purchasing, get it before its to late,i used this track on both friday and saturday at The Lifeline weekender allnighters,in fact send for two copies Jock[as a future investment]its a great album/top cover with a great write up on the back of it - this album would defo have not seen the light of day if it wasnt for these guys sourcing it and releasing it..i am kinda guessing that it will be a limited press and i bet if Phil.la of Soul would have released it in 1969 they would have pressed off more copies than these guys have"Cant stay away " is a great piece of uptempo soul, crossover at its best? imo.... Enjoy and ktf "tfk" Infact im off to the decks to have another listen,i am getting giddy just talking about it....

  12. Yes Val still has his shop, was with him in November last year,he still has plenty of great records in,there was a guy in the shop at the same time offering him his collection of records for sale,so it is always worth a visit when in Philadelphia, loads of 45s-picked up loads of goodies for myself, make sure you have arranged a visit before hand before heading up there " he is a very busy guy".... ktf-tfk

Pete Ward, Did see Pete out a few years ago,Pete Ward was a great inspiration in the mid 70s with his record stall on Worksop market ,use to be one of the highs of the week[second to Soul Bowls sale sheet] visiting Pete to see what hot sounds he had for sale, i can remember Pete recommending Jack Montgomerys Barracuda outing for 30p,everbody was chasing JMs Wand/Scepter release at the time? Talking of Worksop and the Bermuda triangle, yes were is Pete Ward these days??? and his records............. tfk

Hiya Malc, Yes my memory aint to bad ? i thought it was youself that ran The Wakefield Unity Hall Allnighters, i still have a sticker somewere on a record box from The Wakefield days [with the Stax label logo on it? i think?]-i can actually remember picking a copy of Darrell Banks "Angel baby" on U.K Red Atlantic off the Mighty Bub for £1 at Wakefield/popular spin back then- going back to Kevin Methley- havent seen him for years,he was actually working in Worksop of all places last time i saw him..........wonder if any of the guys from Sheffield see anything of him.........Mark Coe is still doing the rounds out there. Yes i think a quick visit to your opticions and 500 lines should do the trick... tfk
