  1. RIP Sly - thank you for the music xx
  2. I just googled the name Jeb Pyre & it brought up quite a bit of info on all the characters in the series. Apparently - although the name Jeb Pyre was fictional - the character was based on real-life detective Terry Fox. He was responsible for investigating the chain of events & his life & religious beliefs were very similar to those of Jeb Pyre. After his retirement from the police force, he worked at Brigham Young University. Lots more info about the series on a website called "TheCinemaholic"
  3. Thanks - I've already looked - makes me feel glad I've never got into religion!
  4. I'm watching Under the Banner of Heaven - released in 2022 but now available on ITVX - a harrowing, disturbing drama based on a true account of events in 1984 USA. It involves - violence - murder - sexual abuse - incest - all supposedly in the name of "religion"......... A gripping, but very disturbing story.
  5. Just finished binge watching Code of Silence - Rose Ayling-Ellis played an absolutely brilliant part! She really brought deafness into focus - well worth watching to see the problems that deaf people face every day & how they can overcome them. I worked mostly with hearing children for over 20 years, but occasionally we had a deaf child - & also hearing children with deaf parents. I was always interested in signing - I picked up a bit as I went along but never learnt it formally. Thumbs up to ITV for a decent drama!👍

  7. Scroll down to the bottom of the page Mick - in the left hand corner there are 3 icons - click on the one that looks like a half-moon for the dark option. I find the dark mode causes much less eye strain! Hope this helps.
  8. I really like the dark mode - it's much less eye strain than the white background! Big thumbs up from me!
  9. Our guest DJ Sam is busy sorting out her oldies box for tomorrow night - she knows the Harold so well!
  10. Is anyone watching Malpractice? It's a brilliant, well-acted drama series on ITV - about the stresses & strains felt by NHS staff to meet targets etc. Another 👍 from me!
  11. Sorry - my mistake! I'll remember for next time xx
  12. I watched The Night of the 12th last night - in French with easy to follow subtitles. Based on a gripping true story & well worth watching - it's available on Channel 4 catch up. Definite 👍 from me.
  13. It'll be great to see Sam Evans back on the decks at The Harold - it's been 8 long years since you were last there Sam!😮
  14. PLEASE NOTE - THIS EVENT IS NOW POSTPONED UNTIL A LATER DATE, AS THE PIECE HALL HAVE A VERY BUSY SUMMER LINED UP! THEY STILL WANT THE SOUL BREW EVENT TO GO AHEAD, BUT LATER ON IN THE YEAR WHEN THEIR CALENDER IS A TAD LESS CROWDED. SO SORRY TO ANYONE WHO IS DISAPPOINTED, BUT THIS IS TOTALLY BEYOND OUR CONTROL - WE'RE JUST AS GUTTED AS YOU ARE! 😭
  15. See you there Sam xxx

  17. Thanks to all those hardy souls who turned out to support us at The Harold on such a rainy, miserable night! Feedback was all great & everyone seemed to have had a really good time. Roll on next month when Nuneaton's very own Pocket Rocket Sam Evans will be making the trip up North to join us for a guest spot! 🎧 🎵 🎶 💃 🕺
  18. Tonight's the night folks - bring your dancing shoes!🎶 💃 🕺 💃 🕺 🎵
  19. Oh that's sad news - he was such a lovely guy - a proper gent. RIP Ted xxx😢
  20. Can't wait to hear what new tunes the DJs have been splashing their cash on! Thought I'd been around for long enough now for there to be hardly any more surprises left for me, but every month they never fail to throw in a new curve ball that makes me prick my ears up! Plenty of my old favourites played too, but it's definitely not the same old same old at The Harold....🎧 🎵😉
  21. It would be nice to believe that's true! The nest was big enough to see - maybe he was walking around on the rooftop with his eyes closed?🤔
