Weeknders
Nail on head...I've been to many a weekender in this country but the only proper one that delivers and bounces from beginning to end is Southport...always has done and always will do til it is no more...not everyone's cup of tea I agree and each to their own...retired from all that now but I've been to many of them over the years and never hated any of them...bit on the commercial side now and no longer cater for Northern I know. I've heard that Prestatyn is a cracker but I've not been since the dance room took off so can't comment but I enjoyed the ones I went to although I found them to go flat during the day and when that happens I tend to lose my enthusiasm and get bored and I suffer when my mates aren't there to pick me up. Its all about having a good time in the company of mates...thats what makes a weekender for me...I've had some of my bestest of times holed up in chalets with me pals and never even gone out all weekend...if the company is right thats all I need sometimes...Fleetwood used to be great for gatherings of the clans as well. There are just too many weekenders these days...and the ones I've been to recently have suffered from dwindling numbers...think its just a sign of the times...they'll dwindle soon enough when the promoters pockets aren't being lined enough. I'm losing the inclination to try weekenders out...like tried and tested the best I must admit.

Oldest Pair Of Dance Shoes Male/female
Imelda Marcos has nowt on me when it comes to shoes...to say I'm an addict is an under-statement...and strangely enough, even though I've been on this scene of ours for much longer than I care to remember, I just don't get this dancing shoes thingy...probs cos I can't dance I've been known to turn out a-soulin in the most inappropriate footwear...not you might think in the interests of fashion but because a particular pair of shoes or boots are the right height for a particular trouser-length...short and regular lengths are too short, whilst long is too long...unless I wear heels...don't do sewing, cant get my head round wonder-web and ain't paying high-street prices for clothing alterations so inevitably it takes me all my time to walk never mind dance in said footwear. And this is from the one who once went to the Parr Hall in Warrington wearing suede moccasin slippers cos she forgot to put her shoes on before she went out and didn't even realise until the next day when she got back home...had she done so she could have swirled and twirled in complete comfort but didn't even hit that dancefloor once all night

Martha Reeves
Hootenanny was the highlight of my night cos I had a quiet one at home before the Hilton madness this weekend. Well it beat Elton John hands down put it that way I caught Martha doin her thing...not at her best I have to admit but hey given her age what can you expect...a big fat 10 for commitment though and she was brill in her day...can't argue with that eh? Ruby Turner can belt out a tune though

Oldest Pair Of Dance Shoes Male/female
I've got a bit of a tale about the old dancin shoes so here goes... One of my male mates left a pair of shoes at my house once after a night out...would have been about 3 or 4 years ago now...one was black and one was brown...a left and a right...both the same style...brogue-type...rather strange I thought...he must have had 2 pairs with him and taken a black shoe and a brown shoe away with him...so I texted his Mrs to let her know I had found a black and a brown shoe and was rather perplexed by it...she text back to say that the two shoes I had were his dancing shoes...he'd kept the best shoes out of 2 pairs and binned the other 2 as they were past their prime...no matter that they were different colours as nobody would notice in a dark club...lol...can't remember how old they were but they were very old as I recall

Bedford All-nighters
I went there a few times...I think it was a converted cinema...I remember once flaking out in the cafe in the services on the way there...everyone fooked off and left me cos they (wrongly) thought I'd od'd and were more concerned about what they had in their pockets (or nether regions) and when I came round I was on my own except for some of the staff who accused me of taking all sorts (I wish) when I was genuinely ill...then I had to cope with the niter and felt groggy all night...think I spent most of it feeling sorry for myself in the car

There you go speaking in riddles again...do I take it that you meant that Derek was wearing a blue shirt at Stoke...if so how do you expect me to remember that when I can't recall what happened yesterday...or today come to think of it...what I meant was is Derek in that pic above (post no 7 as you most eloquently put it) and if so which one is he? Was just thinking where's said blue shirt in the pic...been puzzling over that for a while lol Re Heather Dann...in a word... no By the way are we all set for Santy and PARTAY on Thursday next? One thing's for sure we gonna have one hell of a blast (well once we get the meal out of the way) so hold onto yer hat cos its gonna be a rocky ride lady First Xmas together in all our years of friendship so that in itself is worth celebrating innit? Can't wait mate x

Why Don't You Go To All Nighters?
And now a male who understands...fantastic They say that my son is autistic...high-functioning...Asperger's Syndrome...I've been waiting for respite care since Dec 2006...had three referrals for respite none of which have worked out...the first one couldn't provide the package of respite care that we've been assessed for. the second was a private fostering service that decided not to work with Social Services and the third was a foster carer but my lad damaged the placement by kicking off when he met the potential carer...I can't wait any longer so the Social Worker has approached his dad and he is going to have him for weekends so that will be more than I have been assessed for at two overnight stays a month. With a bit of luck he may have him more...week on week off...he's re-married and his new wife understands as her son has dyspraxia and she's brilliant with my lad. He's gone to their home for a week to give me a break and guess what...he's perfectly well-behaved and going to sleep...he won't do either for me. So at the moment I don't know I'm born and I made the most of the weekend as I went out for a meal and to a soul do We don't have a definite diagnosis yet as the paediatrician doesn't want to label my lad until she's sure and I'm happy with that as he is SEN statemented so gets support at school... Your life seems like it mirrors mine mate

Why Don't You Go To All Nighters?
Well I've been told that niters are absolulely shite without gear Just a joke before I get slated Oh and soulies tend to think its the norm to take gear cos its been an integral part of the scene since time immemorial...how else are they gonna stay up all night and dance like?
