Site for trading records?
Thanks! I think that perhaps the best solution would be a place where people could put in a list of all their trade items that people could browse. A central database. Perhaps I need to start something somewhere.

Site for trading records?
I have some good duplicates I'd rather trade than sell. Plus, anyone who wanted my dups might have something I'd like (I collect NOLA soul/funk/r&b). It would be good if there were a site where one could advertise one's records for trade. Is there?

first three records to start a set
Wow, I can't believe you have any, much less all three, of these. Where do you live and what time are you out of your house?

Marilyn Barbarin "Reborn" for 500 pounds... should I?
https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/2984402?ev=rb Think I should wait, or is that is good a price as I'm gonna get? (I like but don't love the song, and I'd take a lesser condition than "plays mint.") Tell me what to do.

What is your genre?
I collect a specific genre of record: New Orleans R&B (50s), Soul (60s into 70s), and Funk (60s into 70s). I'm wondering how many of you specialize like that, or do you go for the best soul of all genres? (And do we consider "Northern Soul" a genre?) If you specialize, what do you collect?

Marilyn Barbarin "Reborn"
I'll take (may even prefer, price reflected) lesser copy.

Cracked records that play great
But if I can't hear anything, can it be damaging the stylus?

Cracked records that play great
Thanks for responses. For one of my records I have both a G+ and a cracked that plays at least Ex. Guess which I play? I suppose that the value of a record is what people will pay. And I'm not selling my cracked records, probably ever.

Cracked records that play great
I have two very rare records that are cracked from edge well into the center. As long as I make sure (by pressing down if needed, for half a second) that the crack is flat across the split sides, they play excellent to near mint. I don't plan to sell these records but am curious what you think this kind of situation does to the value of a record. Clearly less than a record that plays as well without a crack. But how about compared with a crackless record that has much more noise? Just wondering, because I have too much time on my hands ( or am avoiding real work).
