And in addition the ones I have - mainly Jazz - have sheets of miniature LP covers included for display purposes plus multiple Jukebox strips - I think they would frame up nice
  7. But WHO didn't Womack fall out with ? - Fred Smith, Atlantic, UA, David Rubinstein, Columbia, Otis Smith etc etc he'd cause a riot in cemetery ......... Probably why I like him so much

A Jerry Jeff Walker single? it was only the original of Mr Bojangles!!!
  9. Wow, the history of soul music for £35 !!!!!!
  10. Not a criticism of you Chalky - you were obviously passing the information on - its the confusion that is caused - he might not be playing Newcastle, now - who knows?
  11. According to the Hoochie Coochie club website, he is also appearing on 9th Feb in Newcastle. Shame no one ever gets their ducks in a row whenever it comes to these things :o(
  12. Thanks to Sean and the lads his 'You Make Me Tremble' from 'Hooked Hogtied And Collared' has been an anthem at 'Just Soul' at Retford these past three years - get and out and celebrate this music whilst you can. R.I.P. Paul.
  13. I'm not so sure about that Gareth - I've played records to ardent Soul fans and when I mention it was written by Dylan or sung by Captain Beefheart say - you can hear the tumbleweed. Mike
  14. Either me or the rest of you have got the wrong end of the stick here I didn't think Barry's topic was 'can white singers 'sing' Soul' rather although your preference was for Soul music - can you still appreciate whites singers and their 'art' whatever they are singing. Hank Williams is a wonderful Country singer - Eddie Hinton is a wonderful Soul singer. Mike
  15. What ? Respect by Aretha murders Otis' original!!!
  16. Absolutely not - but I actually prefer white singers practicing their art and not trying to sound black. And I do buy an awful lot of it!
  17. ...you went away and counted them Chalky - i was only having a bit of fun...
  18. They should be a dedicated category for these - you can't move in the Sales section for them. They must press up a few spares
  19. Isn't nice Kegsy to say 'I'm Wrong' !! Remember Ian Levine re-activated it during his 'Rocket' days - and it was discussed a bit on ANS at the time. I was never sure it was even a Mecca spin back in the day but I have seen it listed on several retrospective 'lists' of Mecca spins Mike
  20. ah well - I said 'I might be wrong' !!! but there is a variation with the other side mono/stereo which is obviously the one my mate got... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Linda-Perry-70s-SOUL-DJ-45-Everyone-Has-Someone-Mono-Stereo-/120826315154?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item1c21cf4192 Great sound mind and i would still rather have an issue Mike
  21. - I might be wrong but I thought the demos were double sided mono/stereo of the other side. Back when it was a new release a mate tried getting half a dozen from the US - it was not easy back in those days - and when they were arrived they were the other side! The two copies I've had have been issues. Never really seen the attraction of 70's double sided demos - you normally miss out on another often better track IMHO. Mike
  22. I always thought it was so the DJ's would play the 'right' side. Enforced even more in the 70's when it was the same track on both sides - mono/stereo.
  23. Mine's a solid centre so it can't be that rare - I don't do rare !
  24. Don't think its out yet Dave - Amazon have it has an October release - it does beg the question why it was released as a 'limited edition' individual numbered release in the first place!
